The 22-year-old popular singer Rihanna joins the ever-growing crowd of celebrities who have a signature perfume and releases her debut signature scent, called Reb’l Fleur by Rihanna. The fragrance got its title from Rihanna’s childhood nickname: Rihanna’s grandmother in Barbados used to call her Rebel Flower, when she was a little girl, which she tattooed on her neck last year. The perfume is described as a “musky mix of vanilla, patchouli and amber”.
RiRi could have launched her perfume much earlier; however she confessed that she’d been working over it for a long time to get something that would characterize the singer at the best. “I wanted…something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory,” Rihanna told the People.
“I believe a woman should dare to be different – willing to live her life for herself and not for other people,” Rihanna said in the press release. “This fragrance is about my passion for individuality – being expressive and empowering, yes, but also emotional and intriguing. I promise you Reb’l Fleur will not be easily forgotten”, added the singer.
I believe she succeeded in creating a sexy and really memorable scent, composed of sophisticated floral notes. The elegant bottle of the fragrance has a shape of a high heel, adorned with silken ribbons and a golden ring on the stopper.
Reb’l Fleur is available in US department stores since February, selling for 49$ for a 1.7 oz bottle of Eau de parfum.
