All right, let’s get this show on the road! More specifically on the train. As models of Runway are going for a ride on the train- let’s go along with them.
There’s never any doubt when it comes to Marc Jacobs’s talent- Louis Vuitton’s creative director has proven once again that he can do the job!
So, the latest Louis Vuitton fall 2012 ad campaign presents itself a steam train carrying runway models to the catwalk. You probably remember the specially built locomotive ($8 mln) Marc Jacobs used in the fall 2012 Louis Vuitton Runway: well, this is it, only now it serves as a backdrop for fall 2012 ad campaign; after the train was deconstructed and rebuilt, time was to fill it with models and get the campaign we have before us. As Jacobs explained, “We wanted to continue the journey we started with the fashion show — the glamour of travel and the romance of going somewhere. We wanted to maintain the comfortingly luxurious and old-fashioned journey that the collection represented. Opulence, the brocades, the beautiful cuts of the suits, and I guess, the distant romantic glamour of travel”.
The campaign is enriched with over-sized hats (I remember as a kid, when I’d admire my grandma dressing herself up with these kind of hats, I used to admire them so much- it took me back to childhood) gorgeous Loius Vuitton bags; stowing handbags, carrying handbags, and clasping handbags, floppy toppers, button-down coats.
The photoshoot was amazing, it really gives you the idea and the desire to travel, it evokes the adventurous, glamorous side of you with a perfect touch of retro.
So, let’s hit the road with “Louis Vuitton Express”, their over sized hats and leopard handbags!
