Get ready to dive into the elegance of the future, because I’m about to present you the new Burberry Prorsum Resort 2013 collection.
It didn’t get as much positive response as I thought, probably because it lacked the arsenal of motifs, the idea of experimenting, the intrinsic brutishness, that we’ve all come to recognize in Christopher Bailey’s designs.
However, the collection is quite exciting, beautiful and simple. Mostly dominating in dark colors of ochre, navy, grey and brown of pantsuits, paper-bag–waisted trousers, parkas, “Prorsum” print T-shirts, knits with swooped necklines, pencil skirts, pocket sweaters and shrunken motorcycle jackets. The lookbook also includes very elegant and beautiful ball gowns, so you eventually can reestablish your wardrobe for the upcoming year. What I admire most about the collection is the sensual strictness, very office style and gorgeous. In addition, most of the collection is fused with men’s and women’s collections, as Burberry’s trademark.
Detailed in the 1930s style the collection is quite a success, and the fact that it gives a sort of balance between the sexes “what’s yours is mine, what’s mine is yours” gives new level to the lookbook.
So, start getting ready for 2013 now with Burberry!
