With Burberry’s powerful influence on fashion growing more and more, the luxurious British label unveils a new fragrance for women, titled Burberry Body, which hits the stores of more than 150 countries worldwide on September 1, 2011.
Burberry have been working on this new aromatic line for years, trying to make it really iconic and unique, bringing the attitude and energy of the trench coat and uniting everything Burberry do – from stunning fashion collections to their stores, online platforms and communities. “Through Burberry Body we want to unite all our audiences,” reveals Burberry’s chief creative Christopher Bailey, “and give them a very distinctive point of view”.
“It’s so much more than a fragrance to us”, states Bailey. “It’s the biggest launch we have ever done – one that captures all the modernity and heritage of this British brand today, reflecting all the facets that make up the Burberry world”.
“Burberry Body is the most exciting launch that we have ever created and captures the iconic spirit of the brand today in a striking and sensual way,” adds Christopher Bailey.
Described as far the most delicate and feminine scent, Burberry Body features top notes of fresh green absinthe, freesia, and illuminating peach; a floral heart of natural rose absolute, iris, and warm sandalwood; and a woody cashmeran, creamy vanilla, musk, and sensual amber at the base. The focal point of the new aromatic line is an eau de parfum, which is supported by an eau de parfum Intense, body milk and body oil.
As for the design of the perfume, it is a sleek, jewel like bottle decorated with the brand’s iconic plaid, resembling a radiant rose-gold, which perfectly matches the liquid inside.
Shot by Mario Testino under the direction of Christopher Bailey, the beautiful commercial of Burberry Body is fronted by British actress and supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, sporting an open rose gold satin trench by Burberry. The oh-so-gorgeous 24-year-old Victoria’s Secret Angel and Transformers star skillfully manages to accentuate the beauty of woman’s body, highlighting her amazing curves in this provocative, nearly nude campaign.
“It’s a huge honor to be working with Burberry again, a brand that put my career on the map and helped launch me,” Huntington-Whiteley revealed. “To be asked to be the first ‘Burberry Body’ is an amazing compliment.”
The new amazing scent was featured on the brand’s Facebook fans page before its official launch, giving users a chance to preview it and so far it has already had 8 million “likes”, with the brand still pushing the boundaries of digital media.
“We want you guys to be the first to be able to experience it, and so we’re doing our sampling directly to you, exclusively before anyone else,” creative director Christopher Bailey says in a video message to fans.
