We are more than sure in the fact that renowned fashion designer Marc Jacobs has kind of addiction towards dots. The vivid proof the mentioned statement is not only the use of these playful prints in many of his fashion collections, but also the latest fragrance signed Marc Jacobs bearing the simple name of Dot! This is a new ladybird-inspired scent, which announces about the great intentions of the designer not only to expand his signature fragrance line, but also come up with a high-end makeup collection.
“Anything to me that is part of the joy, the ritual, of getting dressed – things that women enjoy like bags, shoes, fragrance, clothes, make-up – that’s what fashion’s about for me. I love the opportunity, wherever there is one, to adorn, to decorate, to scent, to dress. That’s what fashion’s all about. It’s not necessary, it’s something you want – it’s a fancy and a whim.”, Marc Jacobs stated.
The new Marc Jacobs Dot fragrance smells like coconut water and is actually a sister perfume to the designer’s Daisy and Lola scents. To this end, Dot resembles Daisy in its design and Lola, when it comes to the main defining notes of the scent. Despite the vivid similarities with the other two Marc Jacobs perfumes, Dot comes to be more cheerful, vibrant and spicy thanks to the base notes of coconut water, vanilla, driftwood, the heart notes of honeysuckle, jasmine and orange blossom, and the top red berries and fruit notes.
As for the design of the bottle, Dot is captured in a stylish ladybird-like flacon featuring lovely dots and beautiful charms. Isn’t that just sweet?
Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb are the perfumers, who developed this new refreshing scent, which is already the third fragrance coming from the Marc Jacobs brand. Dot is licensed under Coty Prestige and will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum versions, as well as in matching body products. The US citizens will be able to try hands on this bright scent already in July, 2012.
