The beloved Swedish fashion retailer H&M never spares effort to present pleasant surprises for its fans and the label’s latest exciting collaboration with the Italian luxury brand Versace is no exception in this sense. Just like previous collaborations with world renowned names, such as Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli, Jimmy Choo or Comme des Garçons, this collection as well will give fashionizers a brilliant chance to embrace high end fashion at a pocket-friendly price range. The collection will be inspired by the past collections of the luxurious brand, so if you want to get something Versace at a H&M-appropriate price, get ready to explore the collection and pick up your favorites, once it hits the stores.
Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M, stated: “Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant – everything Versace stands for. Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the party season”.
Donatella Versace also stressed the iconic inspiration of the extraordinary collection saying: “I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching its wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere.”
This statement is quite an attitude shift, since Donatella never supported the idea of collaborating with affordable brand. “I respect everyone who does it. But the reason I didn’t do it is because I work very hard to put the Versace line in the luxury section. I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand”, Donatella explained back then.
Taking into account that the capsule collection will feature all the core concepts Versace has acquired over years, we can expect lots of bold prints, colors, silk, studded leather, flawless tailoring and top quality fabrics at the price range we are used to see at H&M stores. The collection will present 40 garments for women and 20 garments for men, including tuxedos.
Versace for H&M Fall 2011 capsule collection is set to go on sale on November 17. Besides this, there are rumors that this collection will be followed by another pre-spring one that will be available on January 19, 2012. The upcoming season is definitely highly fashionable and we can’t wait to have a glimpse at this particular collection.
