American fashion designer Thom Browne, already famous for his great success in designing unique modern men’s suits, decided to try his skills in a new statement style this time. His great talent in presenting things a little bit awkward and comically twisted, at the same time preserving the great amount of classicism and refinement, makes him really unique, which is the reason why both men and women are just in love with Thom Browne shrunken suits, too-short trousers and shirts, not like any others. Now Thom Browne has collaborated with DITA Eyewear, creating a 20-piece collection of sunglasses that will be distributed worldwide under the Thom Browne brand. The new Thom Browne Eyewear collection, scheduled to be launched in the fall 2011 fashion season, is really something worth taking a closer peek at.
“Ever since the inception of DITA, we’ve always seen ourselves as waging a revolt against mediocrity and uniformity.” states John Juniper, DITA co-founder. “Thom Browne is the only fashion brand that we believe is truly worthy enough to join us in the uprising.”
“I chose to work with DITA because of their attention to quality and design. And these are two things that are the most important to me,” said Thom Browne, Chairman and Chief Executive and Creative Officer of Thom Browne Inc.
The premiere Thom Browne Eyewear collection harmoniously interprets the blend of vintage, modern and utilitarian styles, featuring 20 unique sunglasses, inspired by the master architects, politicians, studio artists, industrial designers and professors of the 40s 50s and 60s. A lot of place is given to color combinations and the use of such refined materials, as leather metal mesh side cups makes the sunglasses more spectacle and extraordinary. Each of the 20 sunglasses is stamped by the signature Thom Browne logo tip of red, white and blue colors and four stripe hinges.
The Thom Browne sunglasses are marked with the traditional Wayfarer, circle lenses, and round aviator with perforated splatter shields and the frames are made of high-quality titanium, that guarantees lightness, comfort and strength.
Sold as unisex pieces and being really statement accessories, the Thom Browne sunglasses will cost from US$450 to US$1,000, after they get unveiled at his Paris show later this year. The new Thom Browne eyewear will be available at the most prestigious fashion and optical boutiques worldwide. For more information, visit ThomBrowneEyewear.com.
