Whenever we talk about jewelry, what we recall immediately is Swarovski crystals, and when the word goes about cute and girlish jewelry, there can be no other one better matching these words than the image of Hello Kitty, and nothing can be more perfect than the combination of these two. Famous since 1974, the lovely kitty has been extremely loved by people all over the world and now this cutie image takes completely a new turn in a sparkling collaboration between the Japanese company Sanrio and Swarovski. The result is the limited Swarovski + Hello Kitty Collection, scheduled to be released in August this year. Necklaces, pendants, rings, earrings, and different other accessories adorned with sparkling crystals will find their refined place in some of Swarovski’s 1,900 stores, coming as an ideal completion to the fall/winter 2011 Swarovski collection.
Nathalie Colin, Swarovski Artistic Director, gives the reason behind this project. “As a fan from day one, I saw an obvious connection between the magical, sparkle of crystal and the bright, playful world of Hello Kitty“.
This girlish and sweet icon, especially famous for its cute ear bow, will be featured not only on precious bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, but also on leather pieces, such as coin purses and card holders, and figurines, accompanied by apples, flowers, bows, and hearts.
The collection features two rings – a set of three rings adorned with Hello Kitty’s face, bow, apple, and a little heart, which can be worn either together or individually and one with Kitty’s face. The earrings are extremely girlish and sweet, decorated with hearts and bows in red, pink and clear crystals. As for the bracelets, they are utterly adorable, like the pink crystal pearl bracelet with Hello Kitty’s face and a colored bow in Pointiage®, fuchsia crystal pearls and movable symbols or the linked bracelet with cutie charms, like Hello Kitty’s face and its bow in faceted crystals.
Other eye-catching items in the Swarovski + Hello Kitty Collection are the seven necklaces and pendants with fine chains and a new type of faceting. The main attraction remains the stunning Hello Kitty pendant with clear, black, yellow, and pink mini crystals used for Kitty’s dress.
