The 26-year-old beauty sports some super-chic and relaxed looks and sits down for a chat with the brand, speaking about her childhood and student years, the beginning of her model career, art, love, the most beautiful day in her life, painting, movies, books, and the fashion world.
The latest Reserved fall/winter 2011/2012 collection, titled “Beautiful Story” is full of uber-stylish, chic, but also comfortable pieces that will appeal to a huge group of fashionizers. Elegant coats, luxurious parkas, leather jackets, flirty dresses, chunky knits, skirts and pants are some of the gorgeous staples brought by the brand. The looks are spiced up with versatile and catchy accessories, such as satchels and totes, gorgeous boots and foot-friendly flats, gloves, hats, belts, and scarfs.
In the interview with the brand, Sasha spoke about the beginning of her modeling career saying that, “I met a boy, now my husband, who worked in the fashion industry, he is a painter. He took a few photos of me and showed them to people at MJ and that’s how it started… People at the agency liked me, so I went there and started working. I had my first season in 2005, I came to do Fashion Week starting with a Prada collection, this was the beginning of my work.”
On her childhood, Sasha confesses that, “I have many beautiful childhood memories. I was born and raised in Moscow. I love the city. I have so many memories of the city itself and of visits to my grandmother who lived nearby. I remember the long walks in the woods, beautiful, natural landscapes. I can remember many of my childhood friends, the first years of school, so many memories… Although I live in New York now, I often go back to Russia to see my friends and family, to walk around my favorite places.”
The beautiful top model studies art history at the Russian University for the Humanities. “I studied for three years before I started working and had to give up my studies. I had a great time, friends, no troubles or concerns… I liked studying, attending lectures. I got to learn many interesting new things. I would surely have continued my education if I hadn’t started working as a model and hadn’t left the country, which was the reason for why I gave up school,” she says.
About how a day of a top model looks like, Sasha says: “First of all, I sleep as long as I wish. When I do get up, I feed my cat. Make breakfast or eat out. I exercise, then come back home, read a book, meet my friends, or go sightseeing in the city in which I am staying. I may also just simply go in the park, where I lie on the grass all day long, read a book or draw. I can also spend the whole day in my studio if I am working at an art project. I am always busy. I always find something to do, even in my free time.”
On how she manages to stay in shape, Sasha reveals some useful tips: “The most important thing is sleep, eight hours a day is what I need to look good, just like everyone else. A healthy diet based on organic food is also important. Doing sports, taking care of your skin, your body, all of these are very important.”
Speaking about the fashion world, Sasha admits that, “It’s everywhere.. it’s huge… I really like it, with all its happy people who make my job so much easier.” She also adds that being a model allows her to “meet many interesting, creative people, whom I wouldn’t have met otherwise. All of them are attached to this one world, the fashion world.”
However, there might be a few disadvantages about living in this world. “The most difficult thing is that you can’t see your family when you wish to, you can’t just get in your car and drive to see your mother when you feel like it. For example, I have to go to work tomorrow and I wish I could fly to see my mom,” Sasha says.
Anyways, Sasha has lots of friends in the fashion world, with whom she homes to remain close even after her modeling career comes to end. Sasha confesses that fashion allows her to express her creativity and this is really a great advantage! “What I like most is that I can express myself. I am a very creative person and this is very important for me.”
