Finally! L’Oréal has announced a license agreement to create fragrances with magnificent New York design house Proenza Schouler. That awaited moment was on Wednesday, when the 13-year-old company announced about signing a licensing agreement with L’Oreal. According to the representatives, they have started to produce fragrances for many popular fashion houses such as Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Viktor & Rolf. Surely, these high-end US designers, such as Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez will turn the L’Oréal Luxe’s portfolio into a perfect complement. The president of L’Oréal Selective Divisions Nicolas Hieronimus said, “We are eager to welcome these remarkable designers to the L’Oréal family.”
International General Manager and also L’Oréal Designer Brands Fragrances Nathalie Durán says in a statement: “Proenza Schouler is one of the most inspiring brands in the fashion arena, redefining what it means to be a modern woman today. They are the voice of a generation. The brand’s commitment to innovation, detail, beauty and craft mirror the very core values of L’Oréal’s Luxury Designer Brands Fragrances.”
We would like to highlight the fact that Proenza Schouler is a well-known label that recently Kim Kardashian appeared in at the CFDA Awards. Well now the brand seems to be willing to develop in the branch of fragrance production as well which is pretty exciting about fans and fashion followers in general.
The designers were very glad to work on the fragrance. They announced that they look forward to translating their visual aesthetic into the subtle and highly emotional world of scent. Surely, Proenza Schouler will do its best to provide a great starting point for an exciting collaboration.
According to the news, Andrew Rosen is going to sell his minority stake in Proenza Schouler. Also Castanea Partners is going to acquire half of the company.
It should be noted that the famous fashion label has expanded its field of work lately. Fashion followers might remember that the label marked its first steps by launching a handbag collection in 2008 and later on developed its lines including a footwear line, about four years after the handbag collection. At this point Proenza Schouler officially has 10 stores and a wide range of business points including 100 points of sale expanding over 20 countries. Also due to its impressive fashion projects the label was nominated for this year’s CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.
After all we just have to say that it’s very inspiring to see how famous fashion labels remain very passionate about what they do ending up surprising us with their new fashion projects every time. Especially this time we have to admit that the big news about Proenza Schouler launching their first fragrance made uproar in the fashion industry!
