On the eighth day of Paris Fashion Week Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciolli presented the new collection of Valentino for Spring/Summer 2011. Valentino Garavani, who retired in 2007, was sitting on the front row and admiring the new gorgeous, classic and beautiful collection of the famous brand founded by him.
Valentino Spring/Summer 2011 collection stands out by the romantic touches, created thanks to the mild colors of nude, cream, navy and pink hues, the ruffles, sheath overlays and elegant hemlines, peculiar to feminine structure. Lace, embroidery and layered taffetas dominate in the collection, emphasizing women’s fragility, elegance and etherealness.
The dreamy short dresses accompanied by belts and other fashion accessories, the little shirt-dresses, the long light evening cocktail dresses, the knee-skimming skirts, the neat shorts together with the flats, medium-heel and high heel shoes, the luxury handbags and carefully chosen fashion accessories created a girlish, pretty look, at the same time containing some little element of danger. The designers drew the image of a sophisticated, pretty girl, who wasn’t afraid to try some experiments with her style.
The new handbags, offered by Valentino, were mainly multiple shoulder bags of smooth leather and rectangular lines, with a chain strap. Many bags were decorated with various floral prints, which brighten up the mood and match perfectly with the light ladies dresses. There were also small clutches, featuring small studs.
At the end of the show Valentino stood out, clapping and smiling, which was a sign that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciolli didn’t fail to please the audience and the legendary designer.
