After keeping their newly born babies away from the public eye, Mariah Carey and her hubby Nick Cannon finally open up the door to Barbara Walters and reveal their bundles of joy to the world, baby twins Monroe and Moroccan. The world-famous superstar is happy to introduce her new life as a mother to Barbara Walter’s 20/20 show. The couple was all in smiles and joy, as the road to having children wasn’t so easy for them. Mariah admitted that she had to undergo fertility treatments to get pregnant and she even had a miscarriage in the past, so the couple is just ecstatic to have been blessed with two healthy and beautiful babies, whom they call Roc and Roe.
Mariah, who is really happy with her twins, reveals that she doesn’t want to have any more children saying that: “I don’t think I understood the enormity or the magnitude of what it really does to your body. Like it’s not just, oh you don’t look pretty and you have a bump.”
The babies were all dressed up and first appeared to the public really in a fashionable way; Roe was wearing a cute chiffon dress paired with a nude bolero, while Roc was all a gentleman in a camel colored suit. As Mariah and Nick put it, they never wanted to present their children to the world in a tabloid, so she created her own website, where she shared her pictures with their fans, besides she gladly agreed to open her doors for the TV special on ABC. The site titled “Dembabies” shows intimate photos of the family from the time the babies were born.
In the TV special, Mariah Carey is singling to her babies, who seem to be really enjoying every little bit of the song. The diva, who gave birth to her twins while her music was playing on a CD, states she’ll be happy if the babies follow her footsteps in the future. She says: “They really respond to music.”
However, her husband Nick, who is also an entertainer, would like his babies first to go to Ph.D. He says: “I want to make sure we get education first. Society puts too much on entertainment and entertainers. They praise them like they’re royalty, especially in America, where it should really be about the teachers or, you know, the doctors. I want them to be able to sing as beautifully as their mother. I want them to be able to play instruments and everything. But I want them like Go get a Ph.D.”
In the exclusive interview with Barbara Walters, Mariah and her hubby also talk about their personal life and marriage. She admits that it was very difficult to make a commitment again after her divorce, and says that she is very happy to be in love. We can’t but wish endless love and happiness to the couple with their babies!
