Wanna know the ideal recipe for an uber-successful show? Just take plenty of whimsical designs, a white carousel and gorgeous Kate Moss and you’ll definitely succeed! Sounds a little fairy tale like? It actually looked like so! This is the concept Marc Jacobs adopted for demonstrating his stunning Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week. The result? Something simply incredible, much unexpected and exciting!
“After the hardness of Fall, we wanted something gentle and kind, fragile but strong, too,” Marc Jacobs said about his collection for Louis Vuitton Spring 2012. It was a dreamy, sugary presentation, extremely beautiful and somewhat even frivolous, yet it managed to produce a powerful impact over the audience. Perfectly setting the stage for the new season with models wearing feminine frocks on the runway, the white merry-go-round played a major role in the show, symbolizing the fashion industry, which is always in motion. Let alone Kate Moss, who was the last girl to appear on the catwalk in an ivory frock and put a dot on the show.
Everything in the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 collection was outstanding and dreamy like with a strong ladylike flair. From girly tops with lace collars, delicate princess dresses and fashionable A-line and bell-shaped skirts to elegant coats, smart suits and crocodile biker jackets, the new line of Marc Jacobs really impressed and charmed. Sweet pastel hues, peekaboo cutouts, tweeds and ostrich feathers, but also broderie anglaise, organza, leather, sequins, crystals, plastic flowers defined the Louis Vuitton woman for the upcoming season with a play on girlish innocence and 60s style. Beauty-wise the models were wearing pink lips and smoky eyes accompanied with a slightly disheveled up-do.
The models walked down the catwalk wearing gorgeous chignons accessorized by precious, sparkling tiaras. In terms of accessories, the ethereal looks were complemented by Speedy bags, transparent voile Lockits, basket weave bags, and dizzy stilettos. “The workmanship on our new basket weave bags is insane. It took six hours just to line up the skins on one coat,” Vuitton’s creative director said.
Who would ever say that the stunning Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 collection didn’t impress? It certainly did and, moreover, showed a great potential to become a perfect source of inspiration for creating a super-voguish wardrobe in the new warm season!
