Louis Vuitton Resort 2012 Lookbook

It’s the summertime now and the beauty of the season is being showcased in the latest Resort collection of the famous French label Louis Vuitton against a green grass wall. Resembling the spirited flapper of the early Roaring Twenties, the peppy girl of Louis Vuitton’s 2012 Resort collection takes us on a journey of a modern Parisian dream, where a free-wheeling and breeze-catching atmosphere leads and femininity is described through gorgeous red lipstick, dazzling prints and killing high heels. What catches our attention from the very first glance is that she’s toting some snappy handbags and chic statement accessories, like the motorcycle helmet. It’s high time to start your cruise to a new fashion resort now, where modest and bright, bold and reserved attitudes coexist, where the renowned trends of the past are revived with a bit of modern twist.

In collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Sofia Coppola comes with a gorgeous capsule collection of shoes and bags in the past, but her influence is a bit more noticeable for the brand’s Resort 2012 collection. As an “official muse” for the collection served the Pool Room of the Four Seasons Hotel in New York, which is the personal style of Sofia Coppola. “Oh my God, for me it’s really fun,” Coppola said. “I’m happy to give my opinion of, I wish I could have this or that.” “I told [Vuitton design director Julie De Libran] I want a new wardrobe,” Coppola added. Consequently Marc Jacobs created the new collection of the renowned label based on Sofia’s favorite shapes, just like a denim tunic dress. The result is a bit controversial, yet beautiful and feminine style.
The dominant color of the collection is rich blue, almost ultramarine, which often comes in combination with white, red, black and coral. The entire collection is all about prints. You can meet cute and stylish polka dots alternated with Eiffel Tower patterns, geometrical interlacing prints competed with traditional plaid. The Eiffel Tower print is actually a nod to Sofia’s current hometown of Paris. We can’t miss the oh-so-girlish bows both on clothing and shoes, which are signature of Louis Vuitton.

The Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 lookbook features comfy jumpsuits, wide pants, sexy mini dresses, vintage mini skirts, biker suits, a la Chanel jackets and much more. The shoe line is even more catching, presenting a great array of vibrant rubber and laced platform boots, sexy strappy sandals and colorful flats.
You can never lack accessories in the Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 lookbook. Biker Stephen Sprouse-print bike helmets, occasional necklaces and bracelets, classy handbags with shoulder and cross-body straps, bright and classic monograms along with huge beach bags, scarves, youthful sunglasses and polo hats are seemingly designed for the girl on the go, whether she’s on Vespa, motorcycle, or wedge-platformed foot!
There is no doubt that Sofia Coppola, a longtime friend of Marc Jacobs, really helped him a lot to create a unique and impressive lookbook.
