Leighton Meester in Vera Wang Lovestruck Fragrance Ad

At last the new ad for Vera Wang’s “Lovestruck” fragrance was launched, resembling the modern version of Shakespearean story of Romeo and Juliet. A beautiful girl, a loving boy, a bouquet of lovely flowers and a balcony is all we need to create a romantic and dreamy scene of an eternal love. And this time this fairytale was pictured thanks to a New York City fire escape, a passionate boy and the beautiful actress Leighton Meester in a gorgeous burgundy gown. No doubt, the advertising campaign was a great success, and just a single look at it will arouse a great desire in you to obtain this new scent for sure.

The adorable 25-year-old “Gossip Girl” looks fantastic in that Vera Wang alluring dress, even though the ad was shot on a cold winter day on Mercer Street in SoHo. Leighton was yet the only person freezing in that strapless gown, while everyone else was feeling quite warm and cozy in their winter jackets and parkas. “Everyone else was in three parkas and Leighton is standing there in a strapless evening dress with a very thin fabric,” said Wang.
Anyways, the actress had lots of funny moments during the ad shoot. “I was above it all, literally. So I was just kind of entertaining myself — I did a little singing, did a little dance,” Leighton told WWD.
Surely this scenario couldn’t help drawing everyone’s attention, who was passing by. “When I heard tourists saying, ‘I want to look like her,’ I knew we were right on the money. There’s nothing like the real client in the street, and I mean the street literally — and in windows literally,” Vera Wang said.

Leighton signed a two year contract, which will bring her a $3 million worth income. About their choice of the new face of the fragrance, Vera Wang admitted: “Meester’s beauty, talent, and spirit will inspire all the young women that I hope will enjoy this passionate, new young fragrance.”
The advertising campaign was a great success thanks to the creative director of the campaign, Trey Laird and Carter Smith, who was behind the camera. “Lovestruck” will appear in the UK on June 5, and in August in the U.S.
Vera Wang gives the characteristics of “Lovestruck” as follows: “It’s all about being overwhelmed, inexplicably, hopelessly in love. Allowing yourself to feel passion inspite of yourself, the situation, the repercussions. A new definition of Romeo and Juliet! Sexy, sensual, and unstoppable!”
