The Tents in New York Fashion Week is the best of the best venues to showcase a fashion line, and it’s a great honor for Katie Holmes to show her line at The Tents. The venue generates the most buzz during fashion week, as if there isn’t enough buzz during the event to begin with.
Holmes will display her upcoming collection for Holmes & Yang with partner and former stylist, Jeanne Yang, the fashion line was co-founded in 2008. Holmes & Yang is an expensive luxury fashion label that is sold primarily at Barneys New York. Most pieces in the collection are in the high 3 to 4 digit price point.
The motivation of this collection stems from versatility, Holmes says, “We want to create pieces a woman can wear over an over, and people won’t necessarily say, ‘Oh, you wore that last week.’” It’s hard to spend so much on expensive pieces, and not get the most out of them; especially when the quality and comfort of fabric makes you want to wear something every day.
Holmes & Yang will be shown in The Tents on Septemeber 9th, which coincidentally is the same day Holmes’ fashion friend Victoria Beckham is scheduled to display her fashion label, Grazia. Beckham’s line will show at the New York Public Library. A source close to Holmes says, “This is a big deal for Katie to show in the tents, under the full attention of the fashion editors and the glare of media scrutiny.” Can’t wait to see Katie’s fashion line next week!
