Kate Bosworth in the New Cotton “Fabric of My Life” Ads

Lovely 28-year-old actress Kate Bosworth has been selected as the new face of Cotton Incorporated. Gorgeous Kate features in the “Fabric of My Life” ads, flaunting her fantastic blonde locks, dreamy eyes and fair skin complexion. However, besides modeling in the campaign, she had also to sing the popular theme song of the campaign. Take a look at the fabulous photos and watch the video to have a more vivid imagination.
According to Glenn Sciachitano, the advertising director of Cotton Incorporated, Kate was the ideal option for the campaign: “Kate was an ideal choice for this year’s commercial. Her beauty, her status as a Hollywood actress and a fashion icon were a perfect fit for our strategy: to show women that cotton is a part of all aspects of their lives, even if that life includes a walk on the red carpet.”

Actually for this particular advertisement, Cotton Incorporated has been looking for an actress, not a singer to bring out the fashion side. Ric Hendee, senior vice president of consumer marketing for Cotton Inc. told WWD: “In year three we sought out someone else who had a cinema background and we put the music part behind and focused on more associations with nice clothes and…frankly the editorial side of fashion. We were looking for people from the movies who were really seen as young, female fashion leaders and Kate came to the forefront quite quickly with that kind of perspective.”
About the fact that she had also to sing in the campaign, Kate felt quite nervous. As Hendee states: “She was in fact anxious [to sing] and she said this commercial will give her a chance to make her singing debut.”
In the TV commercial Kate is pictured on various backgrounds, like looking through antique books, shopping for jewelry, or filming a movie, and surely during all those times she was wearing cotton. The beautiful actress wears famous designer clothes, such as Prada, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler and Nina Ricci, while Cotton Incorporated presents fashionable pieces in natural cotton, coming in various price points, which you can see at fabricofourlives.com next month.


“The idea is you don’t have to spend designer prices to find beautiful things. You will be able to click on any one item and be directed to manufacturers’ and retailers’ Web sites if you want to buy it. It’s a nice way to show cotton is [available] in all different price points,” Hendee said.
Additionally, Cher Coulter, a popular celebrity stylist, who together with Anthony Franco styled Bosworth for the advertising campaign, stated: “People generally think of cotton as cozy and casual. But high-end designers really capitalize on its versatility to the extent many people may not immediately recognize it as cotton.”
Cotton Incorporated started the “Fabric of My Life” campaign still in 2009. Since then they have always been choosing musical artists as their brand ambassador, like Miranda Lambert, Jazmine Sullivan, Zooey Deschanel in 2009 and Leona Lewis and Colbie Caillat in 2010. This is the first time the brand will be represented by adorable actress Kate Bosworth.
