It’s quite unusual to see a high street fashion label present its collection during Fashion Week, however J.Crew is a special exception. On September 13, 2011, J.Crew sent down their Spring 2012 collection during New York Fashion Week for the first time ever, instantly conquering everyone with the fresh and funky attitude. The pieces presented were simply fantastic, with a perfect styling and amazing colorful combinations that skillfully balance classics with urban casual chicness.
For the upcoming spring/summer 2012 season, J.Crew’s creative director Jenna Lyons wanted to spice things up by putting a heavy accent on color. Like most of the designers, she has also chosen the bold and blooming approach with splashes of neons and brights, like hot pink, fire engine red, turquoise, mint green and yellow, which were perfectly balanced with gorgeous nudes and timeless classic shades, such as gray, black and white. There were also such bold hues, as soft pink, and khaki. All those monochromes, as well as bold prints and color blocks simply enchanted everyone present, brining infinite options for you to mix and match, creating stylish multi-tone outfits that match your personality perfectly well.
J.Crew is known for original and wearable designs both for men and women with a fun and flirty personality, people who love to dress well and make a strong fashion statement with their unique style. The label’s latest collection for spring 2012 offers a great variety of options to try, however it also manages to keep the well-defined theme, which is a casual chic style that can be sported from day to evening. Impressive combos of shirts with pencil skirts and wide leg pants, stylish ladies dresses, tucked in blouses, lovely shorts and classy blazers captured everyone’s hearts in New York, designs which were accentuated through eye-popping colors and accessories.
There was also a strong emphasis on everyday accessories in the collection, which were kicked up in similar bold shades. For instance, an evening clutch in candy-colored stripes, or heeled sandals in shades of sherbet can certainly help you freshen up your style in the sunny season and adopt a wow-look that makes a great difference.
There were makeup trends too, more precisely vivid orange lips that looked smashing with those colorful outfits. All in all, the J.Crew spring 2012 fashion show gave brilliant styling ideas and inspiration, and this is what everyone wants out of Fashion Week!
