Fall 2011 clothing color trends

This time it’s the trend forecasting company from Southern California, Design Options to bring clothing color trends for fall 2011. Consequently they are mainly influenced by that part of the world. According to Design Options, fall/winter 2011 will bring five distinctive color trends:
Nu Vogue – It’s all about avant-garde and chic style. Nu Vogue presents bronze tones and olive yarns mixed with shades of pale goldenrod, which will together create a bold and alluring look.

Urban Romance – This specific colors fusion tells a story about a metropolitan melodrama. Due to the midnight blue and silver, various grey shades and cosmopolitan memories of city nostalgia awaken in us.

Edge of Night – Mysterious shades of forest green and plum, deep violet shades and silver finishes create a unique atmosphere of limitless darkness.

Fill Seeker – Luscious shades of hot pink together with burnt orange tones show the pursuit of extravagant ornamentation.

Moonstruck – Greenish yellow tones, bold saturations of aquamarine and dark sienna, copper flecks and soft patterns of royal blue velvet are what will scream romanticism, sensuality and delicacy.

Fall 2011 textile color trends

Besides the clothing pieces that color trends affect, it’s also important to take a look at the threads, with which each item is made. These textile trends are suggested by Spin Expo, an international trade fair for yarns, fibres, knitwear and knitted fabrics that is held in both New York and Shanghai. They present the following themes along with the Pantone color for each one.
Time to play
This is an energizing palette, containing whitened winter greens, modern brights and dark purple. This theme is all about fluidity and movement, new innovations and technical finishes, graphic plays of color and pattern, romantic stripes and simple micro textures. The colors for this theme are dawn blue, blackberry cordial, calypso cordial, mineral green, porcelain, mustard gold, amazon, apple green, mallard green and rifle green.

Time to escape
Here pinkish taupes, warm copper and soft browns alongside with deep rose and blue grey dominate, which create a chic and somehow “protected” style. The theme suggests warm soft textures, powdery finishes, blurred color images, smooth shine, sheer textures and transparent looks. As for the colors, cream tan, copper, burlwood, chateau rose, desert sand, beet red, incense, whitecap gray, lead and bracken are what will bring the time to escape, the time to feel luxurious and relaxed.

Time to explore
Russet orange, strong reds, golds and bronzes, vibrant teal and pinks will create a new unique theme, which lets us explore our creativity and fresh ideas, creating a new style in a modern way. Here freedom of spirit and boldness in creativity is appreciated. Time to explore brings lots of surface interest, a velvety touch, volume and rounded looks, irregular textures and multi color effects. The colors for this theme are chili pepper, beeswax, boysenberry, buckthorn brown, molten lava, seaport, beetroot purple, fuchsia red, partridge and decadent chocolate.

Time to shine
It’s time to shine, time to visit the past, when things were special and refined, time to find exquisite beauty and perfection, time to create drama and satisfaction through deep shades of inky blues, greys and blacks, futuristic purples and highlights of silver and gold. This theme lays the stress on lace, ruffles, extreme softness, luster, aged appearances and feathery effects. The colors include lily white, pewter, orchid hush, peacoat, heron, surf the web, true navy, gothic grape, champagne and jet black.
With such a great diversity of colors and patterns for fall 2011, all you have to do is to start mix/matching them to finally find the best ones complementing your style and preferences.
