Etro Spring 2012 – Milan Fashion Week

The Jazz Era is apparently going to have a great impact over the upcoming fashion trends, as many designers have found the roaring 20s to be a perfect muse for their spring/summer 2012 collections. Another high-end label that has reflected vintage in its collection is Etro and its spring 2012 collection, sent off during Milan Fashion Week, is a beautiful embodiment of the ‘20s style, upgraded to suit the new trends. With an irresistible dose of elegance exuded by vintage designs, Veronica Etro wanted to capture that fascinating feminine vibe and classiness that dominated in the Jazz Era, and the result is simply fantastic.

“It’s a return to elegance”, said Etro, the 37-year-old creative director of the family firm’s womenswear collection. “I was watching the old films of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, and I was completely inspired. Inspired by the music, the dance, and the swing.”
For the upcoming warm season, Etro continues to charm with its signature print and pattern work. Flirty prints, fun colors and flowy, lightweight fabrics dominate in the beautiful Etro spring 2012 collection, but according to Veronica Etro, the collection is not meant to be romantic. Inspired by the futuristic paintings of Fortunato Depero and by the label’s design archive, Etro opted for an eclectic color palette, ranging from bold pop art hues to simple black and white, and gorgeous prints, which led to an extremely fun and festive line. Reflecting the art-deco inspired style, the Etro woman rocks 1920s silhouettes with skin-baring cut-outs for a more modern update of the classic flapper shape.
Colorful parsley prints were used to highlight the great amount of sophistication of the collection, while ombre hues and fringe details spoke about the designs’ playfulness. The entire dress line bewitches from the very first glance, being the right deal for fashionizers, who strive to emphasize their femininity and the great fashion sense. The amazing cut-out details, embellishments and stylish shorts ensembles accentuate the bold and powerful approach of the entire collection, so, no wonder, Veronica Etro managed to create a beautiful balance between the designs.
From monochromatic looks to stylish pastel ensembles, the collection is just a great delight to watch. Variety is always valued in fashion, so skim through the gorgeous Etro spring 2012 collection presented at Milan Fashion Week and select your perfect matches.
