Dsquared2 Spring 2012 – Milan Fashion Week

Always known as the label that sticks to impressive themes for runaway shows, DSquared2 invites us to the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts! For their spring 2012 collection, showcased during Milan Fashion Week, designers Dan and Dean Caten paid a tribute to music festivals. The result was just amazing, as no one had ever witnessed a better summer festival styling. Feast your eyes upon the utterly colorful and lively Dsquared2 Spring 2012 collection and get ready to embrace the upcoming spring in a cheerful rock chic and boho-hippie inspired style!

During the marvelous Dsquared2 spring 2012 show, models walked down on a muddy runway sporting utility jackets, men’s shirts, tribal chic long dresses with raffia embroidery, denim pants, hot bikinis, asymmetric tops, t-shirts, mini skirts, waterproof parkas and the already famous willies, becoming a shabby chic fashion inspiration for fans of real exquisite style. The show used songs by Coldplay and U2, which perfectly matched the overall atmosphere of mud, fringe, floppy hats and even beer bottles. Gorgeous, epical, fanciful and wearable are the best words to describe the Dsquared2 Spring/Summer 2012 collection, making “Dirty denim” the hottest trends of the upcoming season.
The catwalk during the Dsquared2 show was filled with inspiring, comfy, hot and utterly fashionable looks and indie-inspired pieces mixed with grunge elements, which led to a unique “very Glasto-style”. Despite rain and mud, nothing could ever stop people from really partying. With shades of Woodstock and beach culture, the color palette of the collection was extremely vibrant, bold and crazy. There were cheerful shades of yellow, orange, turquoise, purple, magenta and green, but also sparkly animal prints and the American flag prints that came to inject a happy touch to the overall scene.
The accessories line was equally convincing with festival wrist bands, long scarves, mannish belts, super colorful sunglasses and cotton foulards, “flappies” hats or masculine-inspired ones, mirrored shades in flashy colors, lots of fringes on gilets, jackets and on The Manitoba, Dsquared2’s new it bag. As for the footweae, there were heel rainboots for both daytime and nighttime wear, all made of rubber and with a particular mud-like effect.
So special, crazy, but also chic and super-stylish, the Dsquared2 Spring 2012 collection features a gorgeous parade of loose and flawless looks for you to be inspired in the new sunny season.
