D&G Spring 2012 – Milan Fashion Week

No doubt, some fashion shows are more awaited than many others and this was right the things with the exciting D&G spring 2012 show, demonstrated during Milan Fashion Week. While everyone else felt extremely sad about the ending of the youthful D&G line, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana tried to calm us down with a super colorful, flirty and simply irresistible collection, designed to be the last one from the brand. Glamour, femininity, boldness and a youthful vibe filled the runway during the D&G spring 2012 show, making everyone plunge into a sweet daydream of the blossoming season.

Founded as a sub-brand of Dolce & Gabbana and famous for its strong urban and youthful vibe, D&G made its way in the fashion world, becoming a powerful style influence that can certainly compete with some of the legendary brands of our times. And now it seems like we no longer will be able to admire the gorgeous designs of this brand and get inspired, as the two designers have already confirmed the rumors connected with the D&G closure, circulated since March this year. They stated: “For the upcoming seasons, D&G will become part of Dolce & Gabbana, giving even more strength and energy to our collections. To us, it’s like going back to when we began our adventure: full of ideas.”

And surely D&G simply couldn’t disappear from the fashion horizon without demonstrating a jaw-dropping collection, screaming a fun, eclectic, luxurious and daring vibe. And even though the show started after some repeated delays, it was worth the wait, since it proved to be one of the most colorful, most cheerful and simply most wonderful collections, showcased during Milan Fashion Week.
Carefully selected paisley prints, a splash of eye-popping colors and golden touches are the main features of the D&G spring 2012 collection. Femininity to the max continues to be the focal point for the label for the upcoming warm season. From stylish clothes to vibrant accessories, every single aspect from the line is bound to attract lots of positive attention.
Vividly colored flowing sundresses, ultra short skirts, a beautiful mélange of eclectic prints with a definite ‘90s flair, super-sexy shorts, cropped tops, rich golden accents, strappy platform sandals, elaborated jewelry pieces, long statement earrings, colorful scarves and tiny bags are some of the noteworthy pieces to mention from the collection that fascinate from the very first sight. In terms of color, the collection brings vivid green shades, serene, yet intense blue tones, royal yellow or eye-catching red tones, but also fantastic paisley prints.
All the looks were spiced up with equally eye-catching accessories, such as statement bags in varying sizes. Judging from certain style details, like the gold coin shoulder duster earrings, we can conclude that the gypsy style had somehow an influence on the collection.
Beauty wise, D&G kept things more subtle, going for toned down makeup and natural looking straight tresses. This created a harmonious balance with the attention-grabbing outfits.
With its memorable show, impressive outfits and accessories, the D&G spring 2012 collection really closed the doors of D&G in a fantastic way.
