Chloé Spring 2012 – Paris Fashion Week

Earlier this year, ex-Pringle of Scotland designer Clare Waight Keller came to follow Hannah MacGibbon, who had been the creative director for the luxury French fashion house Chloé since 2008. So now with a new creative director, Chloé presents a new spring, one that is ultra-light, utterly feminine and sensitive with breezy maxis, slouchy pant suits and sunny dresses. Unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, Clare’s debut collection for Chloé stated ultimate delicacy, freshness, simplicity that admires at first glimpse, fluidity, breeziness and movement. No wonder, she perfectly managed to meet all expectations, keeping the signature femininity and sophistication that make the label easily recognizable. Check out the amazing Chloé spring 2012 collection and judge everything yourself!

“It’s all been very fast, but it’s been exciting. It’s great to be in a French house, because you have the opportunity to work with an atelier. I just moved here, but already am feeling the energy of the city, and that has really influenced me,” backstage just before her debut collection, Clare Waight Keller stated. “I want it to be classically feminine, with a lot of fluidity and movement, but also very real,” she added, describing her collection.
Parisian style was in the air during the Chloé spring 2012 show. More minimal than her predecessor Hannah MacGibbon’s work, Clare managed to totally embrace Chloé’s rich heritage through romantic, feminine frocks in a simpler color palette of ivory, accented by floral prints, teal and tawny shades. So soft, delicate and ladylike, the Chloé spring/summer 2012 fashion line is a beautiful plethora of collarless blazers, the already Chloé classic wide-legged pants, ’20s drop-waist pleated dresses, pleated skirts, loose jackets, pretty blouses, shorts, cuffed trousers, but also crisp white masculine-inspired shirts. All the adorable looks were accessorized with high-heeled shoes, comfy flats, and bags in neutral colors.
The Chloé spring 2012 collection allured in so many ways! First, it featured undeniably whimsical, soft textures flowing easily and exquisitely embracing the silhouettes. Second, the subtle colors used proved that simplicity can undoubtedly be extremely breathtaking and chic. Third, the catchy embroidered flowers, elegant stripes and refined pleats added a grandness vibe to the entire line. All in all, the line was ultimately youthful, pretty and simply ideal with the gorgeous mix of masculine and feminine, modern and classic, ethereal and real trends!
