Drawing inspiration from French playwright Jean Genet’s 1947 play ‘The Maids’, Antonio Marras gave birth to a fascinating fashion collection for the upcoming warm season that captivated everyone during Milan Fashion Week. With his incredible Antonio Marras spring 2012 collection, the designer once again shows his great soaring designing talent by portraying a charming story described as being an “intimidatingly complicated concept” by style.com. Check out some of the hottest looks showcased during the show and get inspired for the new season!
In Genet’s play, Solange and Claire are two housemaids, who carry out sadomasochistic rituals while their mistress (Madame) is away. The amazing Marras collection brings forward some undeniably feminine ensembles, ideal both for signoras and servants.
The show started in a fairly sweet romantic vibe with dainty floral printed ladies dresses, draped blouses and flowing skirts, which immediately switched on vibrant shades of emerald green and turquoise. The designer also played with leather, macro-sized painted flowers, animal prints and Klee and Mirò spots, creating a fascinating contrast with the overall scene. However, the main role is given to dresses. From cocktail-appropriate to draped evening gowns, the new Antonio Marras dresses seem to be telling a real romantic story. Still, there are also other stylish options featured in the collection, such as chic pantsuits, printed silk tops, pencil skirts, cardigans and jackets.
Although some of you may find it a little tiring and monotonous to see the already classic black, white and soft hues of cream, beige and pink, the Antonio Marras spring 2012 collection conveys a real spring feeling, brought forward through daring shades of shades of fuchsia, turquoise, magenta and emerald green. The looks get thoroughly complete with embroidered leather stilettos with fur and leather bags.
So rich in mesmerizing designs and with a great story, the collection of the talented designer is really worth considering, when updating your new season wardrobe. After all, with the gorgeous Antonio Marras spring 2012 collection, you are sure to stroll in a great style that can never be ignored.
