When a musician shows her fashion line during Fashion Week, it’s like heavens open up, cascading down a rain of exquisite style and fun, and our brains want to explode all over the place, but it’s all from positive emotions. The 26 years old Canadian Punk-rocker Avril Lavigne apparently decided to make a smashing debut in the fashion world, releasing her new Abbey Dawn collection for spring 2012 and presenting it during New York Fashion Week. Featuring a myriad of bold, youthful, fresh and beautiful ensembles, the latest Abbey Dawn by Avril Lavigne Spring 2012 fashion line will certainly appeal to a huge crowd of young fashionizers, who appreciate the punk style and who iconize Avril Lavigne.
Combining the rocker-girl sexiness and grown-up femininity, quite typical to Abbey Dawn signature style, the new fashion line has taken patriotism as a main theme. Black tulle skirted dresses with a sweetheart neckline, Union Jack graphic miniskirts, micro fishnets, and red plaided items, platform T-strap heels, star printed pieces, ensembles featuring American flag, impressive handbags and accessories are some of the staples presented during the show. Angsty smokey-eyed models with spray-dyed neon tips walked the catwalk, sporting hoodies with flirty tutus and killer heels, party frocks, hot denim shorts and slouchy tops, printed t-shirts with funny messages, rugged jackets, studded shoes and punk girl dresses, which are sure to impress those fond of something provocative and exquisite. Apparently, Avril wanted to make her presentation like a fashion show/concert hybrid, which, no wonder, succeeded.
The popularity of Avril’s show was even more guaranteed thanks to the 14 years old Kylie Jenner, little sister of the Kardashian girls, who sported three looks in the Abbey Dawn show. Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries, and Brody Jenner were all sitting front row at the show to cheer Kylie and Avril up. Undoubtedly Avril’s new fashion line was a success, paving road to be expanded to a complete lifestyle collection.
