I’m not talking about trade scenarios themselves just the concept of how much of an injury risk both players are in a vacuum. PG had significantly more injury history than Giannis and was showing much sharper signs of decline than Giannis at the time we signed him. There’s no logical way you can argue PG was less of an injury risk than Giannis.

For those who want to trade VJ and everything for Giannis. How are you going to fill rest of team after the trade? Presumably, you will need Pg, McCain, VJ, every available picks and swap to get Giannis. So, after the trade, you are left with Embiid, Maxey, Giannis and …..????? Keep in mind, Giannis has a PO for 2027-2028. You have one year window to make things work, otherwise he is going to ask out again. There won’t be any assets left after Giannis trade. So, you will be relying on buyout, vet min or 2 ways to fill rest of the team

ur idea of trading maxey makes the least amount of sense because: 1. milwaukee wants picks first and foremost. they are not gonna trade for maxey and waste his prime next to the likes of kuzma and KPJ 2. maxey is by far the highest volume three point shooter on the team and an elite one at that. why would a team trade for giannis but strip the shooting off the team? 3. any trade for giannis will be done with the intention of re-signing him. it’s been reported that giannis would like to play with a young star player like maxey. hes not gonna waste his prime waiting for young prospects to develop

1. Maxey is an all star at 25. Do you want that or any of the other reported packages? None of the teams rumored come close to offering the value of what Maxey is. Golden state picks in the 2030’s? “3pt creation” is not a fix for shooting. The Bucks for example have guys like Bobby Portis, Gary Trent JR, etc. For all of the issues they have, shooting isn’t one of those. You pair those with Giannis, you’ll get easy looks. Now on the other hand, Embiid has never REALLY been a volume shooter(much less an accurate one.) A Maxey trade leaves us SOLELY relying on PG from the outside. Literally, one of the worst 3pt shooting teams would have a drastic downgrade in your approach, despite getting a 3pt creator. They have to actually make the shots.

You might have made it too complicated but o could see something with these 3 teams if (and it is a big if) we were to get Giannis. I just don’t see how GSWs package around a broken down Jimmy and at most 3 mid firsts (and swaps) is a winning deal but if we did a deal with pg and picks for Giannis (not saying I want to) neither the bucks or mil would really want pg there and before the butler deal both pg and warriors were interested in getting together both in free agency and last years trade deadline – getting off the jimmy contract and bringing in pg for a 1st is something I could see them do if they don’t win a bigger trade like Giannis. Mil if they aren’t focused on winning could buy jimmy out get 3 picks from us and 1 from them which would be a strong return. yeah it’s definitely a bit complicated, mostly because of the stepien stuff. In order to give Milwaukee both LAC picks, we need to get a 2029 pick back, which the bucks don’t have. GS seemed like a good candidate because if they want one more run with Curry they’ve gotta turn Jimmy into someone useful. But they can’t give their 2029 pick without getting a 2030 back lol. Probably too messy, but just an idea. we can simplify it by cutting out GS but I think it benefits everyone a bit better if it’s a three team deal

Yea I get the reasoning I figured the best we could realistically offer would be 28 lac and 30 and 32 from us and you could give swap rights in some circumstances too such as are 28 pick if we keep it (it is protected 1-8 and would turn into 2 2nds for nets) which is unlike but a free lottery ticket.
