Peak Fable for me was playing with my buddy in Fable 3. Married a handful of spouses and moved them all into a village filled with werewolves where the spouses all came outside and yelled at each other before getting werewolf murdered, then going to the Whorephanage, shooting a random patron then and sleeping with each other in a child’s sized bed while everyone was crying. Fable offers some situations that you really have a hard time finding in any other game.

Players however need to manage their expectations. Not every character will have a massive library of voice lines, narrative depth and quests to their name. Previous Fable-Games were the type of game, when you farted in front of someone 3 times and they happen to be into that, you could marry them. It is very much about the crazy and wacky NPCs, if they nail that, we are good. I am sure someone will stumble over some NPCs who (if the game ends up good) will end massive fan-favourites even if they are just a pretty face with a weird personalty quirk. (And that’s perfectly fine for Fable)
