Ok there’s a reason why many women keep most of their makeup products in the fridge. According to some studies keeping cosmetics in the fridge in some cases can be very beneficial. Just as food, makeup products also need to be kept under certain conditions in order to last as long as it’s said on the label. However before you rush to put it all in the fridge, make sure that you know which makeup products you should keep in the fridge and which ones you shouldn’t. Well find below the information that you need!
Oils
Never store oils in the fridge as by that you’ll make them and change their chemical makeup and lose their nourishing abilities.
Serums and Eye Creams
Feel free to put any of these in the fridge for as long as you want as the cold temperature will also help you to de-puff your eyes.
Eye or Lip Pencils
Keeping pencils on the refrigerator won’t aid the application but it will make them easier to sharpen. However you have to be extremely careful with kohl pencils as you want these to be soft and nice not rough and hard.
Organic Cosmetics
Organic cosmetics must be kept in the fridge as that will make them last longer. However that does not mean that you can keep using them for as long as you want as even these have their expiration date. So don’t forget to check expiration.
Lipsticks
Keeping your lipstick in the fridge is the worst you can do to it. The cold will separate the ingredients in the product and make it lose its moisture. However if somehow you managed to melt your lipstick then you might consider putting it in the fridge for a few minutes to return its normal shape.
Eyeshadow
It’s better to keep makeup products such as eyeshadows, blush and face powders in a dry place away from the sun light. By storing them in places with high humidity you’ll ruin them and turn them into completely useless products.
Perfume
Don’t even think about it! Perfumes are made of chemicals. So any change in the temperature will break down their formula and make them lose their scent.
Nail Polish
Although we used to know that storing nail polishes in the fridge prevented them from discoloring latest studies claim the exact opposite. According to experts nail polishes are made of flammable chemicals. So keeping them in refrigerator comes with high risks of ”accidents”.
