Although the whole cleaning process seems consisting of the simple rinsing process, makeup brush cleanse is an actual ritual. How Often to Clean Makeup Tools

The first question that pops in our mind is how often to clean makeup tools to ensure their perfectly clean. Of course a lot depends on how often you use your makeup brushes. However there’s a defined period. Thus according to experts of the field makeup brushes shouldn’t be washed more often than once a month as that’s the ideal frequency. Note that if your makeup brush isn’t soft enough or has even a small amount of makeup product on then it’s time to organize a refinement.

Ok, wash your concealer, foundation and blush brushes once a week twice a month your eyeliner and eye shadow brushes and once a month your eyebrow, lip liner brushes.

How to Wash Makeup Brushes

There are many ways to wash makeup brushes but each method comes with its pros and cons. For example using soap comes with the risks of ending up with dry and ruined brushes while baby shampoo is ideal for a quick and effective washing process. For a deep cleanse we suggest using olive oil as it’s the most effective remedy when  it comes to cleaning eyeliner or brow brushes. Apply a small amount of olive oil directly on the brush and gently rub it with a towel. That’s it! Easy with guaranteed effects!

The Whole Cleaning Process

There are some washing tools that you need to ensure you have in order to start the process. The list includes baby shampoo, a bowl, water and a towel (preferably one of a light color).

Thus grab the bowl, add a small amount of baby shampoo (about 1 tbsp) and pour in lukewarm water. Grab any of your brushes, rinse it with cold water to get rid of the product that can be seen on its surface and dip it in the bowl. Keep it in for about 10 seconds and take it out. Once you’ve done that finish with a cold rinse and start working on it with your fingers to bring it back to its form. At last put it on the towel and let it dry out naturally.

When to Throw Away your Makeup Brushes

Actually makeup brushes do get expired. So it is very important to know when it’s time to throw them away. There are certain things that can be taken as signs of expiration of the brushes. For example if bristles are falling or the brushes are too dry then it’s time to look for new makeup brushes.
