London Fashion Week begins September 14th, and after a survey was take from designers spring/summer 2019 collections, the British Fashion Council confirmed the event will be entirely fur free.
“The survey results reflect a cultural change based on ideals and choices made by designer businesses, international brands as well as consumer sentiment – but also encouraged by the stance of multi-brand stores who are moving away from selling fur,” the BFC shared in a statement.
British designer, Victoria Beckham, had previously stated her collections will not use any animal fur all all. She is making her first appearance in London Fashion Week, celebrating her brand’s 10th anniversary.
It’s the industry’s “furst” in history to have a London Fashion Week with no animal fur. The BFC stated, the result of the fur free fashion week reflects “a cultural change based on ideals and choices made by designer businesses, international brands as well as consumer sentiment.”
