Valentine’s Day is currently trending due to heightened search interest across various topics related to the holiday. A recent article from VICE discussing the “10 Fetish Categories That Blow Up Every Year on Valentine’s Day” taps into niche interests and evolving preferences for romantic celebrations. This article’s focus on fetish categories likely stimulated curiosity and encouraged a surge in searches related to alternative Valentine’s Day themes and ideas.

Additionally, an article from CBS News highlights the ongoing challenges faced by florists as they prepare for Valentine’s Day 2026, indicating a significant lead time in planning for such a popular holiday. The mention of florists scrambling to meet demand underscores the importance of this event in the retail sector, prompting searches related to purchasing flowers, gift ideas, and other Valentine’s Day preparations.

These news signals, focusing on unique aspects of Valentine’s Day and its commercial implications, contribute to a spike in search activity as people seek information, ideas, and ways to celebrate the holiday distinctively. The combination of niche interests and the logistics of flower supply creates a multifaceted reason for the increased search volume surrounding Valentine’s Day at this time.

I don’t find images of people smiling with slaughtered animals interesting at all.
F

Why is she hugging his corpse? Some of these people are insane
L
llamadogmama • 218 points
Because she is an evil and defective human, like anyone who trophy hunts.
B
butterybungus • 59 points
Yep as a hunter myself I only harvest what I can eat. Would never go somewhere to just kill something. No justification for this stuff at all.
F
Few-Statistician8740 • 9 points
In African hunting safaris the local population will butcher the animal and eat it. The animals body isn’t going to waste.
O
OneofTheOldBreed • 11 points
This. I had a colleague do a cape buffalo hunt ten years ago. The local guides were more excited than he was when he dropped his dugga boy. They had not had any meat for over a month. And before anyone asks; yes they really do use all of it.
B
butterybungus • 5 points
I’m not saying anything about the animal. I just couldn’t see my self paying 3k to just kill an animal. I don’t get an enjoyable rush from killing something. Those people can have that.
J
jmaun1 • 2 points
I agree but the locals eat it. I personally would never want to take a giraffe but the meat will be taken care of. I grew up on Western US wild game.
B
butterybungus • 4 points
I understand I just find it weird. Like thinking “I want to go kill a giraffe”
J
jmaun1 • 2 points
I dont disagree. I would rather see them in the wild and watch them instead of harvest one.

Criminal!! Hunt her down and post it

Reddit is great at tracking people down & harassing them. That would be so sad if that were to happen right now… Just saying…
N
NorwegianMuse • 4 points
….Or someone share this with @tizzyent on Instagram. He and his followers can track anyone down.

Yes, many sick demented evil people out there. Poor Toys R Us, Geoffrey the Giraffe 🦒.

Trophy hunting, whether its moral or not, can and often does help conservation efforts because the reserves that charge people per head of game take that money and spend it on preventing poaching and helping endangered animals. Not saying its always good, and it is seen as repulsive by a good chunk of the population, but there is an argument to make that it creates a net good system.

ilovesuhi • 2 points
Riiight, or since they’re filthy rich could donate the money anyways without having to do this sick shit. I find disgusting saying: “oh this is fine, thank to us doing this sick shit we get motivated enough to donate money” what fucking twisted dynamic is that? What’s next? They’re gonna hunt orphans that got too old to be adopted so they can donate money to the fucking orphanage?
R

It’s psychotic IMO.
W
wandering-travellr • 121 points
I must be soft or something. I can’t imagine killing a giraffe or any poor animal. But this fucking woman……
D
DeionizedSoup • 31 points
People replying to you are being weird. I can respect sustenance hunting for literal food, but you’re right, her behavior here is weird. Editing because seriously, you’re not condemning people for eating burgers you’re just saying you couldn’t personally slaughter a cow. I don’t think I could either, that’s why I buy pre-slaughtered. It’s not like you’ve made a false equivalence the way they have.
A
Additional-Line-5559 • 5 points
I think that’s the entire point people are making here that you’ve simply outsourced your killing to someone else. It’s a deep disconnect between what appears on your plate and the process required to get to that point.
D
DeionizedSoup • 7 points
They could’ve made that point without being nasty. Which is why they’ve been downvoted to hell. We ALL understand collectively that meat comes from animals. But even in Ye Olden Days, butcher shops still existed because the act of killing an animal is simply unseemly to most. It’s not inherently fallacious to enjoy meat while not personally being able to stomach the process of killing, bleeding, and gutting an animal.
K
khavii • 4 points
It’s not just that it’s unseemly, even before butcher not everyone went out to hunt their food and in the modern era we simply could not do sustenance hunting even if we wanted to. If you lived in a small town with a population of say 10,000, you would wipe out the surrounding wildlife in very short order if you expected everyone to go out and hunt their own meat from the surrounding environment. We have 8-10 billion people on the planet, sustenance hunting is simply not possible with that many people so you HAVE to outsource the killing. Even in tribes with less than a hundred people it was usually a dedicated group of a dozen or so that did all the hunting, so even in ancient times there were plenty of people disconnected from the source of their meat.

Yeah this sub is just rage bait. A lot of these popping up in my feed lately. Can bots make their own subs?
J

Yeah, it’s the smiles that shows they are bullshit. “I’m doing to this to help nature, it’s a burden I take on” *also I totally have a blast killing these animals… to hep them
G
Grrgrrstina • 3 points
Me either. And if they’re posted these pictures should at least be blurred out. Seeing this stuff is awful for me, and I want the option not to see it.

It’s vulgar animal snuff.
C
countgrischnakh • 7 points
I seriously do not understand who this appeals to. I appreciate life much more than death. I find a picture of a herd of giraffes grazing or some shit a lot more interesting than just dead. I also do not understand killing something and not even using its hide and meat? Like what was even the point in ending a life, just for a picture? You aren’t even going to properly use its corpse?
M
Mescalero44 • 5 points
it is about possessing the power to determine the life and death of another. just like a god

i especially don’t get it on dating apps. like why do i need to be jumpscared by a photo of todd with a bloody woodland animal

_LimpDickBizkit_ • 2 points
A lot of men have pictures with themselves smiling by dead animals they hunted on dating apps. It was always off putting to me.
T

I hunt deer and i love deer… but deer like to overpopulate and get themselves sick cuz we kicked out their predators. That being said, i do find the typical hunting pictures showing blood and a tongue stickin out as gross… Deer poles make me gag! My pictures only exist if the animal looks very neat. Their picture should be respectful!
G
ghostcatzero • 2 points
Psychotic if you do this. This is narcissistic tendencies mixed bs to justify her sick actions.
R
Rich-Equivalent-1875 • 2 points
I use to hunt and hunting is important and it was in the name of conservation but I find it disturbing that people would pose in front of something they killed. Something that beautiful it’s unsettling
M

So horrible 😞
O

Yes it’s disgusting not interesting.
W

I have no issue with people hunting for food, and I’m not a vegetarian, however I absolutely find it interesting that as a society we recognize (and have officially documented) that children that hurt animals “for fun” are a red flag for being potential future psychopaths, but when adults kill animals “for fun” everybody nods and acts like it’s totally normal non-psychotic behavior…. Maybe that’s the interesting/curious part….. Make it make sense please.
T
TerrorizeTheJam • 4 points
I find it psychotic

I can agree with hunting for sustenance, and maybe posing with a good deer or antelope. But trophy hunting makes little sense to me
