The topic of “Clark Gilbert LDS Church” is currently trending due to reports of Clark G. Gilbert being ordained as a new apostle in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This event has generated significant attention, as the appointment of a new apostle is a notable occurrence within the church, which often leads to increased public interest.

Recent articles, including those from heraldextra.com and Church News, have highlighted Gilbert’s ordination, detailing the significance of this leadership change. Given the stature of apostles in the LDS Church and their influential roles, news about new appointments typically attracts a large audience seeking information about the individual, their background, and the implications of their leadership.

The surge in search interest, surpassing 20,000 searches, can be attributed to the excitement within the church community and beyond, as members and those interested in the church seek to understand what this change means for the organization’s direction and leadership dynamics. The official announcements serve as a catalyst for increased curiosity and engagement with the topic.

whatever drives away the active members…. I am excited to see the damage that a president darth bednar could do. I hope to live long enough to see that day.

You’ll just see the more aggressive and extreme voices becoming more prominent. They’ll crush any movements for change within.
M
Michamus • 7 points
That’s what they want. That’s why he’s making these picks.
C
CupOfExmo • 6 points
Exactly. He’ll silence the progressive voices and see a mass resignation, or several. Then he can spin the narrative. Plus this will weed out some people who may not colour within the lines. This will also give TBMs a morale boost of sorts. It will also ensure the only ones inside are the ones who will back the org no matter what. It will also be a way of pushing missionary efforts higher since only the super devout remain.

Mixed feelings. The hard-core women and men will shunt this abuse onto their poor kids.

I have seen a few TBMs upset about this already.

Holy , Christlike people will NOT move up the ranks of Mormonism. Corporate elites will. My current SP is a corporate elite douchebag. I fully expect him in those red seats within 3 years.
S
Star_Equivalent_4233 • 91 points
Exactly. In Mormonism, the worst of the worst move up. And the best and the brightest actually end up leaving. No true hero could stay quiet about what they know is happening.

It doesn’t just apply to the church either…

Hey that’s me. I knew I was the best. Even when I was a piece of shit, I knew I was the best.
S

I’m not a hero, but when I got to the level of EQP and bishopric, I didn’t like the vibe and got off that corporate train. I think the cognitive dissonance gets really powerful when you see behind the curtain, even at the stake level. Everyone knows what kind of politics these guys have had to play to get to that level, or the insane amounts of wealth a few of them accrued. Either way, it seems like they’re preying on the faithful for influence and power.

Another former BYU president. Bednar 2.0.

Because the Mormon church is just a business and these douche bags are just climbing a ladder. I recently heard the prophet and counselors make $3mil/year plus get $1mil in housing. It’s nothing more than a job to them. A job that ruins people’s lives and they don’t give a shit.

I’ll never forget “Hal” giving a talk where a dam broke and killed half their town and he told his wife to STFU and let him sleep, because she was worried about their kids. He thought that was a spiritual story…

Between oaks talk the other day about avoiding podcasts, his lawsuit with John dehlin, and now picking this guy as an apostle, I’d say Dallin h Oaks is using his last few days to go hard with the same playbook he’s been using for years against the “anti” Mormons. When do the mass excommunications begin?
J

Hopefully soon, unless mormon jesus checks in with the lawyers!

I’ll volunteer! 🤚
S

Add to that his personal beef with Nemo and it’s clear where he wants the church to go. And I just remembered that leaked PowerPoint slide where he said he wants excommunications to increase.

The lawsuit with John Dehlin was an old one, right. It’s not another one, I effing hope.

Intelligent_Ant2895 • 2 points
Oh there’s a recent one. He was just in court last week for using the word Mormon in his podcast

Clark hurt employees of the church: “A few years later, he jumped to the church-owned Deseret News, where he laid off more than 80 full- and part-time employees in favor of a new strategy that relied heavily on volunteer contributors.”

Like all the “adjunct professors” At BYU — their secret code for “a woman who can teach this as well as a highly paid faculty member, but who we won’t hire fulltime, AND will pay her in ‘blessings’ instead of a living wage.” BYU’s bread and butter is being a shady employer, forcing people who could/should be compensated properly to work for peanuts and pats on the head. And still pay tithing back to the church on that same measly pay. 💰 Rich decisions are often not ethical.

He didn’t value journalism AT ALL. Truth is not useful for him and free words were better than expert words. Morally fucking empty suit.

Exactly the same. Even fully believing me would not have been able to stomach that THAT guy was one of the lard’s anointed. If that guy has an ounce of humility, I’ve never seen it. EDIT: I don’t mean that I know the family, I don’t. I mean that I would be in full-blown faith crisis right now if I didn’t already know it was a scam.

Agreed. I used to deliberately refer to ‘President Spencer Kimball’ or ‘Elder Richard Scott’, but quickly got “corrected” in stern tones: “Its Spencer **W.** Kimball”, etc. It was almost seen to be blasphemous to not use their middle initial. I still did! Even worse than the middle initial nonsense is the use of a first initial – such as D. Todd Christofferson, or M. Russell Ballard, etc. Who in the world goes by their first initial then their second name?? “Hi, I’m **R. John Brown**”. Its bizarre. Only in Mormonland.

Lol, nah, I’m fine with anything Mormons do to themselves that makes it easier to troll them I know it’s petty as fuck, but the visible face twitch they make when someone (deliberately or otherwise) says “Dallin Oaks” makes me a lot happier than it should
