I wasn’t sure of this myself a while ago, if you check the terms on the page for the £2 family films it does state: “All customers aged 15 or over must be accompanying a child” It is a shame, I’d have liked to go see this movie myself too. I’ll see if I can drag my nephew along. I think it depends? Because I was perfectly fine going into a screening of Moana 2 without a child, but maybe it’s because the cinema knew my face because I go a lot? But I was also allowed into another at a cinema I don’t usually go to? As long as you’re not a creep and don’t cause any issues, it might be okay? But I don’t know. 🤷

was that a family screening? or just you going to see a kids movie? i don’t think the concern is creeps, it’s just you’re getting a deal that they’re most likely losing money on so the criteria will be strict.

They were both M4J screenings- which I think has rebranded to £2 Family Films? Knowing Cineworld, you’re probably right about that. I imagine creeps *could* be a concern, but losing money is definitely their focus. Maybe they didn’t care because I’m an Unlimited member? So I was spending no money on tickets anyway? I’m not sure. 🤷

I would imagine the official rules are as noted in other posts – any adults should be accompanied by a child. In reality enforcement will almost certainly be variable – staff won’t necessarily be aware of this rule, or won’t be paying attention to what you are booked in to see and will wave you past when they should have stopped you.

I agree with the person who says it depends – I’ve attended some £2 ‘family’ films previously and it’s been fine. Movies for Juniors (M4J under the time) requires all children be accompanied by an adult and all adults by a child. This is the info under the Madagascar showing (which is a M4J) – the lego movie **doesn’t** have the same criteria (it’s just a classic film and 3D) so I’d say you’re fine. This would be a great film to see in 3D on the big screen. I only saw it previously at home (and in 3D). Getting up on a weekend for a 10am cinema visit, though… 🙂

I was today years old when I learned I needed to take my daughter along to these movies. I think it’s just pure luck that I haven’t tried already and been turned away in embarrassment.
