Scheduling conflicts is general PR speak but often true. Sometimes the actor wants to do the movie, the director wants the actor, and they just can’t get the money with that actor. There’s no reason to embarrass the actor publicly by stating the actual reason. So the actor “drops out”. Or the budget needs to be cut, they want to change the city or country where its filmed and the actor is like “I have kids in school, you said we’d film close enough to LA where i can go home on weekends. I’m not going to Romania for 4 months that could turn into 6 months if shooting falls behind”.
