The topic of Bo Bichette is currently trending due to significant developments in Major League Baseball related to his career trajectory. Recently, it was reported that the New York Mets signed Bichette to a substantial three-year contract worth $126 million. This high-profile move has generated considerable interest, as such financial commitments typically attract attention from fans and analysts alike.

Additionally, there are reports of the Philadelphia Phillies having made a competitive seven-year offer to Bichette prior to his signing with the Mets. This level of engagement from multiple teams for a player of his caliber further contributes to the high volume of searches, as fans seek to understand the implications of these negotiations in the context of the upcoming MLB season.

The combination of a major contract signing and reported interest from other teams amplifies Bichette’s visibility in the sports news landscape, prompting users to search for more information about his performance, future prospects, and the context surrounding these negotiations. As key events unfold within the realm of free agency and player contracts, interest in Bichette’s situation has surged, resulting in over 100K searches.

U
usctrojan18 • 322 points
Hey man we have Tatis and Merrill (who were SS’s) in our outfield and they seem pretty good so it didn’t work out too poorly for us.
A
AKAD11 • 294 points
Yeah, the key is to get all shortstops not a bunch of 2nd basemen
C
ChaseTx • 76 points
Semien and Bichette both shortstops. >! if you ignore the fact that Semien hasn’t played there for 4 years !<

Who’s playing the outfield for y’all besides Soto??
M
Macandme • 92 points
Tyrone Taylor and Jared Young per roster resource (lol)
D
dhmontgomery • 71 points
It’s okay, I’m sure a future Hall of Famer like Juan Soto can easily just cover a little extra ground on defense, right?
A
Always_Chubb-y • 67 points
Thats 2024 Gold Glove finalist Juan Soto to you!
T
tlav01 • 157 points
Literally gonna be the revolving infield with Lindor being the only stable piece.
M
Macandme • 84 points
I mean it feels like this is the end for Baty. Which is a shame after a pretty solid year, but maybe worth selling high. I don’t fucking know, I’m so lost.
C
cov2445 • 36 points
Baty played some left field in the minors, I could see the Mets giving him a shot there at least
L
Lefty44709 • 31 points
He can play first, with Polanco as utility DH
D
dayrunner • 11 points
It’s more of a drag on Vientos ab’s
D

D

It’s extremely hard.
S
sukizka • 56 points
*shortstops. Lindor, Bichette, Semien, and Polanco all started as Shortstops.
S
SensitiveArtist69 • 49 points
fuck dude i forgot they signed Polanco, what the hell lol
S
SeaDevil30 • 16 points
Polanco is probably mostly restricted to just DH now though with an occasional appearance in the field if needed I’d guess
S
sukizka • 19 points
They said he’d be their starting 1B when he was signed. Idk if that was just post-Pete talk though or what.
T
timetomove2 • 40 points
I’ll give you some beans for your spare Acuna. They’re not magic though.
M
Macandme • 29 points
I feel like he’s maybe the only one worth keeping at this point with his speed/defense/versatility late game value.
N
nietzsche_niche • 9 points
Baty is worth keeping wtf
B
BradMarchandstongue • 16 points
Any interest in trading one of those infielders for an outfielder??
A
AbbreviationsGold587 • 10 points
Just got to have pitchers keep the ball in the infield
D
dynnk • 1,038 points
Gotta be playing 3B right? Semien and Lindor are both significantly better up the middle.
G
GKRForever • 440 points
Yeah I think so and they can trade Baty. 26 yo 3B who was a top 20 prospect in all of baseball, coming off a breakout 3 WAR season and not even in arb yet. He could get you a lot of the way to Duran, be the headliner for Peralta, etc.
I
ImperatorBTW • 208 points
I’d be very very surprised if Baty is traded
F
Famous_Butterfly_825 • 101 points
I’d be surprised, too. Bo’s better at second. Hes a liability anywhere else.
D
dBlock845 • 109 points
Semien doesn’t have the arm for 3B either and is way better at 2B. No idea what they are going to do unless Bichette is going to DH most of the time. Someone will probably get injured in ST and solve the issues though, always happens.
S
snowcone_wars • 51 points
If the plan is to have him DH most of the time, then the contract looks even worse because his bat, while good, isn’t good enough to justify this, especially when he’s moving to a much less hitter-friendly ballpark. Also, Bichette DHing means that Polanco is your every-day 1st baseman, in which case, lol.
A
abhorentFacts • 61 points
I dont know how… Bichettes arm isnt exactly accurate or strong. He will likely be one of the worst 3rd baseman in the league.
B
BuryMeInTheH • 13 points
Agree. Likely is proven out in spring training. Expensive DH tho.
H
HeffePlaya • 90 points
Baty was a 3+ WAR player last year… I bet Bo will rotate in at 2B/DH and let Semien be more of a utility guy. Or someone is gonna have to learn left field, which I guess could be Baty but his defense at third is excellent so who the hell knows.
J
Jorlung • 69 points
If Bo is at DH, where is Polanco lol.
H
HeffePlaya • 90 points
For better or worse first base. We’ve known that’s the plan for a while now
M
MisterMet9 • 21 points
Polanco is 1B, I think I’ve seen clips of him practicing there this offseason
V
Ven18 • 47 points
Hit the Tatis button and put Lindor on the OF *taps head*. Who the F knows feels like teams are building rosters like MLB the show with secondary positions that have no draw backs.
F
Federal_Employer_626 • 17 points
I feel like lindor would not be willing to give up SS without words lol
A
AutomaticDare5209 • 17 points
Lindor is one of the best two-way shortstops in MLB and he’s paid as such. He’s not moving anywhere.
K
Koss424 • 12 points
Bo is not a 3rd baseman.
C
CruSea2 • 221 points
Hell yeah, that’s the pitcher we needed
X
Xadis • 31 points
Bo rhymes with Mo maybe he can pitch like him too
