Madison Sheahan, the No. 2 official at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), is trending due to her announcement of leaving the agency to run for Congress in Ohio. This significant career move has garnered considerable media attention, resulting in over 10,000 searches as people seek to understand the implications of her transition from a key government position to a political candidacy.

Verified reports from major news outlets, including The New York Times, CBS News, and Reuters, have confirmed her decision, highlighting her connections to notable political figures, including former President Trump and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. These affiliations further amplify public interest, as her departure signifies a potential shift in the political landscape, particularly in Ohio, where she aims to secure a seat in the House of Representatives.

The involvement of a high-ranking ICE official in a congressional race raises questions about her policy positions and the impact she might have on immigration and other related issues if elected. The combination of her influential role at ICE and her political ambitions is likely contributing to the spike in search interest as individuals collect information on her candidacy and potential effects on future legislation.

This collective reporting by multiple reputable sources about her decision and its implications has driven substantial public curiosity, resulting in a notable surge in search activity related to Madison Sheahan.

She graduated from Ohio State with a BA in 2019? And now’s she’s the Deputy director of ICE?

Hang on. I graduated with this ghoul?

From her Wikipedia: “Sheahan graduated from Ohio State University in 2019, with a bachelor’s in public affairs, public management, leadership, and policy and agri-business with minors in community and business leadership.” So she got BA with 5 different concentrations? That resume doesn’t even make sense.

Personal_Sprinkles_3 • 637 points
Feels like public affairs, management, and leadership are probably 1 major with a big name under the political sciences umbrella
C
ConfederacyOfDunces_ • 747 points
I just looked up Ohio States minors and “concentrations” she listed. Half of them don’t exist. Regardless, I don’t care about her degrees, but 2nd in Command for ICE is fucking insane.

FOIA request to Ohio St registrar incoming. I bet she “Graduated” just like Scooter Wanker did from Marquette

Those records are protected by [FERPA](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Educational_Rights_and_Privacy_Act). You could FOIA ICE or the GAO though, if they have the record.

Before ICE, she was a department Secretary in Louisiana. Age 26, on the Governor’s Cabinet. It was the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, I think. Her big qualification was that she was the captain of her rowing team in college, or something like that. No doubt the actual PhD scientists who worked at the Department for 30 years were impressed by having her as their boss.

> No doubt the actual PhD scientists who worked at the Department for 30 years were impressed by having her as their boss. 59 year old here, got stuck with a 30 year old supervisor that is a micromanaging control freak. It’s even worse than you can imagine.

Sarah Suxtabee installed all her sorority friends and brown nosers into every top position she could, and all those genius ladies promoted all the genius ladies they could find. It’s the worse kind of brain-drain, my boss is now a 24 yr old with no previous experience. There’s an idiot 20-30yr old in charge of every agency she could possibly wedge one into.

If you were looking at their current site her majors could have been renamed in the newer catalog years. Looking now there is a Public Management, Leadership and Policy Major in the school of public affairs there. There is also an Agribusiness major too. So she is probably just a dual major. I’m a registrar and that’s what it looks like to me anyways.

Sotanud • 18 points
I always crack up at my university’s programs. For example, there are three majors: X, Y, and Z, where the name of Z is “X and Y”. The diploma for a double major in X and Y would like identical to a single major in Z. Anyway, point is, diplomas don’t tell the whole story if all you can do is search the exact wording in the current year and are unfamiliar with the school.

Are all of these classes taken by Communications majors by any chance?
C
Clean_Brilliant_8586 • 103 points
That lists like a list of all the classes she took instead of the actual bachelor’s degree.
C
ConfederacyOfDunces_ • 17 points
Haha it does.
C
CambrianExplosives • 38 points
Yeah it sounds like she has degrees in (1) public affairs, public management, leadership, and policy, and (2) agribusiness.
A
aculady • 15 points
Double major – “Public affairs, management, leadership, and policy” is one, “agri-business” is the other.

“Leadership” lol, that’s not a degree, it’s a merit badge

I wouldn’t know how to go about it, but it’s be interesting if someone could actually get a hold of her school records, she wouldn’t be the first republican in Trumps employ to lie about their education or credentials.

TIL she graduated from my high school and is like, near my social circle and challenging Kaptur in my (gerrymandered to hell) district. Fuck this person. I hope she flops and crawls back into her hole.

Most likely has family in the field and accelerated their path to the top. There’s tons of people out there that get this privilege. I’ve met directors within my field that have half the experience that I do because their family gave them the hookups.

Experience doesn’t matter. Only loyalty matters. This is what happens when ideologues take over the government.
H
HobbesNJ • 92 points
Trump learned after his first term not to put anybody competent in charge of anything. The only qualification he requires is absolute loyalty. Too many people interfered with his “agenda” the first time by trying just a little to do what their job required and avoid breaking the law. None of those people around this time. And anybody with any self respect wouldn’t go anywhere near his administration.

> Trump learned after his first term not to put anybody competent in charge of anything. The only qualification he requires is absolute loyalty Anyone who knows anything about Hitler, and his rise to power, is hearing loud echoes right now.
A
AnOnlineHandle • 9 points
Meanwhile he’s demonstrated that he has no concept of loyalty towards others, with all the people he’s thrown under the bus, now talking about how he can take whatever he wants from the US’s longest allies.
H
HobbesNJ • 10 points
For his entire miserable life, loyalty has only ever been a one-way street. He demands loyalty from others, and exhibits none in return. The psychological and emotional deficiencies this man has could fill a textbook. He is the most loathsome human being I could possibly imagine.
A

So this is basically DEI, but with loyalty in place of demographics.

An SSA whisteblower got fired near the end of the summer because Big Balls was appointed to a high level “advisor” position and used it to siphon all of our SS numbers to an external server. So… he’s probably still there.

Hitting on underage girls, getting his ass beat by said girl’s older brother and friends for the unwanted advances… you know, the usual stuff.
