I just checked the org chart and Nick ain’t the GM.

Yeah, it’s not his choice.

Lurie and Roseman lets the coaches make their staffing decisions, until it actually becomes problematic (not making the playoffs)
C
CheezyBeanBurrito • 13 points
Groh got canned after the playoffs too. It’s really a “once the offense becomes a hinderance”
T
the_dj_zig • 0 points
Correct, but that was 3 years later. We will have to be utterly embarrassed today for KP to be on the chopping block, especially considering he’s a first year OC.
C
CheezyBeanBurrito • 3 points
Groh got canned after his second season, not after his 3rd. He was working with significantly less offensive talent too. Patullo doesn’t have that excuse
C
CarsonEaglesWentz • 4 points
I don’t agree with this at all. I think there isn’t a shot he is back next year no matter what happens in the playoff (blown out today to Superbowl win). He is the laughing stock of the league. Lurie historically has been cut throat. But hey, I could be wrong, I guess we will see.

If we win the Super Bowl KP will be vindicated rightly or wrongly. Even if we win completely on the defense’s backs.
G
gahlo • 2 points
> Even if we win completely on the defense’s backs. If you’re the playcaller of one of the most talented offenses in the league, let alone the most *expensive* offense in the league, there is no excuse for the team relying on the defense to win unless you depth chart looks like an IR report.
T
throwaway179090 • 1 points
As I said rightly or wrongly, I don’t think it will matter if the end result is a SB win.
H

First year OC designing plays and calling plays like it’s his first time ever being around a football game.
P

Patullo would even be a shitty pee wee football coach
W
WindComprehensive332 • 3 points
Bro there have been multiple halves of games this year where we haven’t been able to complete a pass, and not because we’re not trying. It’s become problematic.
C
clingbat • 47 points
Thankfully it’s not his decision in the end. Lurie/Howie have already shown exactly how this will go if Sirianni doesn’t fall in line with the Pederson dismissal.
C
ca1892 • 19 points
Exactly. Nick isn’t writing the $175 million check for a terrible offense. This guy is done regardless of how we perform in the post season.
C
clingbat • 13 points
A ring *might* save him, anything short of that and he’s def gone.
Z
Zstrike117 • 4 points
With over +7 head coaching openings, A ring will get him poached by some dimwit org. Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out Kevin.

If we have the chance to get someone like Mike McDaniel, we need to try. Loyalty to the team & fans is more important than to one guy. You could put KP back in a behind the scenes role again to keep some continuity but elevating our play calling is more important
P

I don’t want Patullo anywhere near this team.
Z
zerutituli • 20 points
I like Nick and his record speaks for himself. But I really don’t want this to be the hill he dies on.
G
GeneralGalvatron • 3 points
Interesting to think he would since he only got the job due to Doug doing the same thing
A
Away-Mall-721 • 35 points
It’s always great when a Super Bowl window is compromised because the coach wants to protect his buddy’s career
K
kekehippo • 5 points
Nick chooses loyalty over a super bowl winning roster? You think Nick will stick with Patullo on threat of being fired? That’d be weird.
N
Night0wl11 • 2 points
We had a similar situation with Doug re:Press Taylor, but it sounds like Doug wasn’t willing to cede more power or say with his staff, which led to the split. I think the difference here is that Nick would be willing to give that up, as we’ve seen him do that in the past when it came to playcalling and some level of say in his staff
K
kekehippo • 2 points
Time is a flat circle, for Eagles sake I hope Nick isn’t a freaking idiot.
P
philly-buck • 6 points
Passing game has been weak for 3 years while simultaneously having great receivers and OLine. Might as well make another coaching change.

Then fire Nick
B
BrilliantTarget6972 • 10 points
Nick is more loyal to winning, and his bosses. A win today, and/or next week, and/or the weeks after that don’t necessarily mean that Patullo is safe. They could win each game 20-17, and that shouldn’t (and probably wouldn’t) be enough for Patullo to keep his job. In my opinion, for him to keep his job, the offense will have to look entirely different, and essentially prove that they’ve just been playing possum all along and only doing just enough to win games and get to the postseason. Jalen Hurts’ numbers from under center and targeting crossing routes are absurd. Yet they’ve run the fewest plays from under center and the fewest crossing routes in the nfl. If they suddenly start using Hurts as a runner, running play action from under center, and running crossing routes and average 27 ppg in these playoffs, he probably keeps his job
P
philly-buck • 0 points
Why do you think they don’t go under center much or use the middle of the field?
B
BrilliantTarget6972 • 0 points
Because I think Nick, who is 1 of only 2 head coaches to secure a playoff spot the last 5 years, knows how to survive the regular season without putting your entire playbook on film for the postseason.
P
philly-buck • 0 points
Jalen has never used the middle of the field much (since college) and is reluctant under center. This is not new.
B
BrilliantTarget6972 • 0 points
He’s also insanely good at it when he does do it. 32/38 when targeting crossing routes, nearly 400 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions and a 129 passer rating. If you’re able to win games without showing everybody what you’re best at, you do it.
P
philly-buck • 1 points
0 interceptions? Did you see the Chargers game?
B
BrilliantTarget6972 • 1 points
Those weren’t thrown to crossing routes. They may have been passes over the middle, but not crossing routes.
B
BrilliantTarget6972 • 0 points
Downvote all you want lol, facts are facts. They’ve ran the fewest number of crossing routes in the nfl despite Jalen Hurts completing 84% of those passes for 350 yards 3 TDs and a 129 passer rating. They were winning games without having to use the things they’re best at, using Jalen’s legs and crossing routes. You simpletons don’t like it because you don’t know how to diagnose what you’re watching. Winning isn’t enough for you, you need it to be visually pleasing to feel good about it, and that’s okay.
P
philly-buck • -1 points
Now do since he has been in the league. It is not a Patullo problem. It is a Jalen problem. Always has been. I guess you know what you are watching. You aren’t watching crossing routes. You haven’t for years.
B
BrilliantTarget6972 • 1 points
It isn’t a problem to begin with lol. They win regular season games without doing it, and are 5-0 at home in the postseason, winning those 5 games by an average of 21 ppg. You not being able to understand that smart coaching staffs and Quarterbacks can find different ways to survive the regular season, and turn things up for the postseason is a YOU problem.
P
philly-buck • 1 points
You just changed your whole argument. lol. Maybe football isn’t your thing. It’s ok. I am sure you know a lot of cool things.
B
BrilliantTarget6972 • 0 points
Same reason why Jalen Hurts hasn’t run the fumble much at all this season.
S
suuushi-roll • 25 points
then nick & him can go tbh.
H
Hib3rnian • 11 points
Could be the case, Dougie P thought he could strong arm the organization over coaching staff, didnt play out like he envisioned.
S
Skibibbles • 1 points
I have a feeling Doug wanted to go as well so he forced the issue. I’d hope Nick wouldn’t try to play chicken with the org. It won’t go well.
I
iTALKTOSTRANGERS • 3 points
With the amount of high quality coaches that are about to hit the market I would have zero issue if Sirianni plays chicken with the FO. We move on from a coach who I personally have very little faith in and the org doesn’t take the reputational hit of firing a SB winning coach this quickly because literally every single person in the league knows Kevin is a fraud.
P
Phillylive215 • -8 points
It absolutely was but Doug was a meat head jock douche that thought cause he won a SB he was up there with BB and he cared more about his ego than he did repeating for a SB
F

I’ll always love Dougie P.
G

I think what matters the most here is are THE PLAYERS loyal to Kevin
R

No it’s what Howie and ultimately Jeff decide
B
Benti86 • 10 points
Yea, but if the players especially don’t like Kevin, Howie and Jeff will factor that in.
