I once had the party and the haunting happen at the same time. The guests were all milling around, but the hostile ghosts were also there, furniture was floating and Lady Jannith was pissed, apparently aware that I had blown up Oskar with the rest of the Zhent in act 1.

I just can’t stop myself from running every quest. I’m not a completionist at heart by any means. But I do have some weird ocds in games and this one sucks me in on the worst part where I’ve done it once so it has to be done that way every time. Trying to do a bad durge run just hurts me mentally, I cringe and hate it the whole time and have to fight to keep the path

I’ve beat the game 4 times and only done that house once. It was a miserable experience so I’ve never cared to do it again. I’m not even sure what all plot devices affect the house but I’m not terribly interested in finding out.

You can skip most of it, fly up to the top and put mystic carrion torch to the panting. Polf done. The lower levels mind you are some quick exp. Just have a scroll of see invis and they will appear and you can kill them quicly. The upper levels though. Naw, just fly up and burn the panting with the torch. Ezpz

I finished this once, bugged loads more. There is no need to do it more than once imo. Same with the Fireworks quest. It’s a half written quest that leaves you going ‘did I miss something…’, at best, if you can finish it without issue. I’ve lost hours trying to finish that quest before though. You can’t pay me to do it now.

Funny how I was just saying this. My PC hugs everyone to comfort them, but they couldn’t hug their love interest when he needed it the most. My only complaint about that scenario. Watching Astarion stab Cazador 15 fking times is so cathartic.

On my current Durge playthrough, I had a glitch where Raphael didn’t give us a deal to kill Yurgir in exchange for information about Astarion’s scars. Astarion was with me, we already talked to him at the Inn and everything, my only explanation is that the game considered him to not be in the conversation with me because he started digging up a chest right when the cutscene started?? Even though he was visually in the cut scene with the other companions?? Very weird, but I didn’t notice it for 4 hours when I realized I didn’t have a quest marker for where Yurgir is, checked the journal and it said “Raphael left without telling us anything. We’ll have to see if we can find any other information in Baldur’s Gate”. I considered going back in the save files to talk to Raphael again, but I really didn’t want to do those 4 hours again and I realized I’ve done Astarion’s quest the same way 3 times and it could be interesting to see what happens if he doesn’t have weeks to scheme about over taking the ritual. But yeah, we’re still definitely going to kill Cazador Update: Raphael came to make the offer to Astarion in the middle of the night so the deal is on. No cut scene (“You’re talking about a vampire and a devil, darling. We’re good at sneaking about in the night”)

I was actually just coming to update this: Astarion got all disappointed that he wasn’t able to talk to Raphael (“I wanted to be there!” Me: “babe you were RIGHT THERE!!”) and then asks what he wanted, I tell him it was to kill this random orthon, and he says “maybe I can make this work, we can kill the orthon and Raphael will owe us” But then Raphael came to talk to Astarion in the middle of the night to offer him the deal, without a cut scene (You’re talking about a vampire and a devil, darling. We know how to sneak about in the night”)

Act 1 & 2 for me is just get all the exp possible, so I do EVERYTHING. Act 3, I will not bother with Mystic carrion unless, there is something specific I need from him (almost never). I did once the press quest, just to see how it goes, never again.

I despise and like this quest at the same time. During my first playthrough, I thought I did everything correctly. I also barely survived the encounter. But then, I could not select any other news tablet in the end, so I had to leave…and the town began hating me the next day. But I kinda fit my narrative. My tav really wanted to be a hero and he imagined he’d be loved and celebrated…only to realize what being a hero meant and how much he had to sacrifice.

They just suck as a main weapon since they’re only useful against spellcasters anyway and there’s always better stuff That makes throwing the dagger from inventory the best use for the bark, but the dagger is bugged and despawns sometimes when thrown, so even the optimal use case isn’t really an option

I like to have it on rogue Astarion as an off hand weapon. This way it has the longest use time before it gets replaced by something better that isn’t just “bigger number”
