Yet Taulia Tagovailoa burned his redshirt because of a kneel-down to honor his injured-for-the-season brother.

He was falling to his knees because of a broken heart. That’s obviously worthy of a medical redshirt.
H
HODLmeCLOSRtonydanza • 15 points
He was calling timeout.

First player to not want to go to the NFL at all costs
C
CumAssault • 264 points
He’s going to be a CFL legend in 10 years when he finally gives up CFB
C
cityofklompton • 43 points
And will probably make more as a college athlete than the salary cap for an entire CFL team. Think he’ll be just fine with that.
O
OttoVonWong • 19 points
How do you do, fellow croots?
P
P1mpathinor • 101 points
That’s what happens now that being a P4 starter pays more than being a later-round draft pick.
A
Aidanj927 • 49 points
With how weak this class is he’d be round 3 at worst
S
skull36 • 73 points
He / his camp probably hasn’t been hearing that back from the NFL tbh, fun college player but probably seen as undersized for next level
B
BirdmanTheThird • 4 points
Yeah tbh if his team felt like he was a 2nd rounder he would be gone. It likely is he’s a stretch for the 3rd but likely later. Doesn’t help that the undersized nfl QBs aren’t exactly elite so the trend will go hard the other way
T
tagillaslover • 6 points
He’s 6’1. Sure he’s a little skinny but he can always put on weight. And Jayden Daniels went like 4th overall
S
skull36 • 40 points
Jayden was a Heisman winner man lol

I mean we just had Pavia, and he is a worse prospect than Trinidad is.

If I were a really good college player I would make a ton of money for four years, go to business school and major in finance if possible, then bail. Use that money to do something else that you’re passionate about. The NFL is so much harder on the body and brain and I’m not sure it would be worth it.

Guaranteed $5M minimum in college or risk it in the league? Yup

NCAA is in shambles lol, now you’ll see everyone taking their cases for another year to court
J

NCAA lawyers legitimately walked out of the courtroom before the decision.m was read. They are in *hell* rn
R
Rock_man_bears_fan • 54 points
It took the judge 20+ minutes to get to the point. I don’t blame them
P

20 mins of diversion to throw the scent off him being an Ole Miss Law School alum 😂

Waiting for the first player to not get drafted then sue to be able to play in the NCAA again.
G

can you blame the ncaa at this point? do they have terrible lawyers or do the courts just hate them
M
MortimerDongle • 12 points
The courts have basically decided they have no authority over players

R

With the judge being a fan of the school
S
sibdow • 8 points
Actually confirmed he’s a fan of the school? I genuinely do not know
A
AfroKyrie • 67 points
He’s an Ole miss grad I’m pretty sure. Likely due to the fact there aren’t many law schools in Mississippi. Not speaking from confidence tho
N
NewSouthPelicans • 35 points
Yes. He is an alumn and fan of ole miss. Anybody that’s from around here knew what this ruling would be before it ever started.
C
Connect-Bake-3080 • 2 points
Whitwell actually signed with Miss. State out of high school, then played at Northwest MS J.C. Not sure why he left State. Then undergrad at Delta State. But he does live in Oxford. That and its an election year for Chancery Judges.
W
Winter_Lanterns • 33 points
its worse the judge got his law degree from ole miss complete clown show
D
Dukester10071 • 8 points
How many law schools are in Mississippi? you can’t just exclude every lawyer from a school
S
Serbootheel • 8 points
Literally only two – Ole Miss and the Mississippi College of Law in Jackson, which is barely a law school anyways.
J
JoeCap90 • 4 points
Two to be exact. Ole Miss and Mississippi College.
L

He got his law degree from ole miss

Gets more busted every week, it feels like.
C
CrunchyChewie • 2 points
Mmm maybe that changes now? They might not want to go through the whole process of establishing more precedent if they just quietly let him play again.
P
PaddyMayonaise • 213 points
In don’t understand how basically the entire world is in agreement that there be a distinction of U23 and professional, regardless of sport, yet somehow NCAA sports are like “fuck it, let’s have full grown men’s in their mid-20s that aren’t even pursuing degrees play” Like I know I’m old school but modern college football is such shit
M
morelibertarianvotes • 14 points
Reddit has thrown out the 23 year age cutoff non-stop for like a week. There is hardly consensus that it’s the right bright line cutoff
C
Crosscourt_splat • 15 points
Yeah I don’t trunk it’s an age cutoff. I think it’s 5 or 6 years from start of college then cut. Then either exceptions for military who do a contract or religious waivers for those that partake in mission trips. It’s about opportunity though. These guys hanging around fills limited spots for the younger (or guys on different paths) guys who deserve their chance as well. College athletics should not be the end state.
