I’d never heard of GoodRX but quelle suprise, the prices quoted on Trump’s Site are the same as on GoodRX\* Which means he’s just copied a service that already exists. TL;DR: I hope this makes things cheaper for US citizens. But I expect it all to be a shit show that only Trump profits from through royalties for using his name. I’m going to be honest. I absolute can’t stand Trump, but if this does give US citizens cheaper drugs. Not just now, but for the foreseeable future I’m going to give him that. I will still consider him a corrupt narcistic scumbag, after all he HAD to have it named after himself. Just like I consider Nixon a horrible being, that also established NEPA and EPA. Except he didn’t demand it be named after himself, at least. So you can be a corrupt narcisits and a horrible being while doing one good thing. I expect most medicine to be unaffordable for people with chronic illnesses. I’m also expecting the site to be a complete shit show. Bad security, not scaled to size, and buggy as fuck. It’s going to be hilarious to see how the site handled paper prescriptions \*snort\* I also expect TrumpRx to be a total crap solution compared to what I enjoy. Thanks to combined bargaining power (everything is bought by the state, not per pharmacy/hospital), and universal healthcare. What medicine I buy is subsidized, but if I also end up paying too much for medicine and healthcare during a year, it becomes 100% free the rest of the year. The current cap is 333 USD per year. That’s the most I have to spend on doctors, tests, operations, and medicine. Also all my prescriptions are digital. I can check their validity online, send a message to my doctor for refill, and go into any random pharmacy to pick it up. My current record is 15 minutes. From ordering refill while outside the pharmacy until I could buy a new batch from the same place. I can also order all my medicine online. I go to any pharmacy, sign in using the national bank-id, and they can quickly check what I have prescriptions for. I can choose to pick up, or have it sent by mail to my address or closest pickup spot. The entire door-to-door shipment is also 100% free if I’m past my 333 USD cap 😀
