Trying to remain objective so that he doesn’t tarnish his new media career.

He also owns another team… Edit: LOL this post became so much more fun than I expected.
K

He owns 3 teams. The Jets, Bills and part owner in the Raiders.

33-3 vs the bills

Josh Allen is 8-6 against the Pats in regular season and the Bills fans want to call us Josh’s sons lmao

Eh you guys have a good core going. Hopefully the coaching improves and brings those guys to their potential

He owns every team in the league except the Giants. And the Patriots I guess since he only played them one time.

Exactly. He’s an announcer with an ownership stake in another team. He has to be very careful. Of course he’s rooting for us.
D
dixdude91 • 28 points
He’s rooting for his wallet. We all want to think he’s rooting for the Pats, but he’s part of the rich club and they care for nothing more than their $$
B
Breezyquail • 9 points
Nah, two decades of PATRIOT come on, you know he’s rooting for them plus he really thinks the world of Drake Maye and see such potential in him. I’m not sure who he might love or not on the Seahawks
C
CaveatBettor • 27 points
After the team friendly discounts he took (Peyton Manning made $2 mil more per year in their concurrent seasons, after Brady’s rookie contract, $16 mil vs $14 mil averages), Tom can take the money on the sidewalk
L
lazerlike42 • 21 points
Does anyone think it’s a bit odd to have someone who has ownership in the teams also being one of the broadcasters? It seems to be that he shouldn’t be able to do both.
B
BigBankHank • 35 points
Does anyone think it’s a bit odd that the nation’s premier sports “journalism”/broadcasting company runs its own sports book? Also, yes. Also shouldn’t be able to do both.
U
urbanism_enthusiast • 2 points
ESPN doesn’t run that anymore. They have a deal with DraftKings now. It’s still gross but I don’t think it was successful so they stopped branding it.
M
Maine302 • 34 points
Seems like America at this point. The rich have stopped pretending things are fair or balanced.
S

He’s about to hire the Seahawks OC as the Raiders HC.

It’s not a fault for him to not publicly root for a team when he’s literally a broadcaster and an owner who is literally about to hire a Seahawks coordinator. And it also might be true. He might not be rooting for us. He doesn’t live in Boston. And the idea of like a new QB winning a Super Bowl at 23 might make him a little bit competitive.
S
Shadow_Dale • 3 points
You think he’s jealous of Drake Maye? The greatest quarterback of all time doesn’t give a shit about Drake Maye playing in the Super Bowl.
B
Breezyquail • 3 points
Not only don’t I think he’s jealous I think he’s very much a champion for the young kid. Tom Brady loves perfection he loves talent he loves commitment and dedication he sees that in Drake Maye and he’s given him nothing but props as far as I know
B
browesers • 23 points
He’s so partial, that he’s a minority owner of another team!
F
forfeitgame • 13 points
That’s boring though. At least go the Aikman route where you look on your former team with disgust.
J
JimTheSaint • 9 points
exactly at some point he might have to cast a game with pats in it that matters. – like next year’s SB.
A
AAAPosts • 13 points
And he owns the Raiders
Q
Quiet_Down_Please • 13 points
As well as the Bills!
H
HerefortheTuna • 7 points
Is this why he never announces our games?
S
SoxFan010 • 30 points
He announces for Fox which typically broadcasts NFC games. If the NFC opponent is the home team and the game is in the afternoon, I think brady would call the game. I don’t think it’s anything other than the schedule not creating an opp for him to call
D
Druuseph • 14 points
They changed the structure in 2023 to allow for more cross pollination between AFC and NFC games, it’s not as rigid as it used to be as they are allowed to cross flex. But for one or the other to grab a game that is outside of their traditional conference it needs to be one that looks like it will generate ratings ahead of the season and given that we won 4 games the last two years there wasn’t much faith that we’d be all that entertaining.

Goddamn Jacoby Brisset
M
Maine302 • 6 points
The NFC/AFC thing no longer applies. He announces the FOX game of the week, which wasn’t going to be a Patriots’ game coming off of the past several seasons’ results.

And our (gasp) schedule didn’t give us a lot of big games.
E
ElleM848645 • 2 points
Next year the Pats will have more games of the week. This year they actually had quite a few prime time games compared to the last couple years.
A
Adam_Ohh • 1,318 points
He’s remaining neutral because he’s about to hire the Seahawks OC as his head coach for the raiders and doesn’t wanna piss them off. Relax, you people let the smallest things set you off.
