I don’t blame maxey or embiid because the refs condition the players by always calling the intentional fouls, so when they didn’t call the two that happened there, it’s just a lose lose situation. If maxey didn’t take that shot to sell the shooting motion and they did call the intentional foul, then we only get 2 free throws with a few seconds left and Knicks possession.

In the playoffs against the Sixers Dante rugby tacked Maxey and the refs didn’t call it. Maxey was mauled that entire series in late game and they never blew the whistle. The game should be reffed consistently and “hard nosed defenders” shouldn’t get away with contact that others don’t – unless I missed the page with that exception in the rule book

It’s not a foul bait. He was intentionally fouled so he went into the shooting motion to try and get 3 free throws instead of two while they were down by 3. It was smart basketball sabotaged by crooked officiating.

Regardless of which way the fouls go. It’s almost funny how every close game is a circus at the end. They called this, didn’t call that, don’t call an intentional foul here. It’s just so much randomness to the end of games. How are they happy with this kind of product? We want to see ball. Players making big plays in big moments.
