The topic “lexie lawler” is currently trending due to recent news surrounding a nurse from Baptist Health Boca Raton who was fired after making controversial social media posts. Specifically, the nurse, Lexie Lawler, gained significant attention after a viral video surfaced in which she expressed wishes for birth complications concerning a Trump press secretary. The shocking nature of these remarks has driven a high volume of searches as people seek more information regarding the incident.

Multiple media outlets, including wflx.com and The Hill, have reported on the firing, detailing how the remarks on Leavitt’s pregnancy led to immediate backlash and subsequent action from the hospital. The specific content of the posts, coupled with the implications they carry related to a public figure’s pregnancy, has further fueled interest among the public, leading to over 10,000 searches.

The combination of the virality of the video and the ensuing consequences of Lawler’s actions has captured widespread attention, creating a significant spike in search inquiries related to her name. As details surrounding the situation continue to emerge, many are looking for clarification on her statements and the hospital’s response, intensifying the trend.

Neither the left nor the right have a monopoly on vitriolic nonsense.

That’s not been my experience. While neither side is perfect, media coverage alone seems to be a good indicator.

Warning: Rule 5. The purpose of this sub is to *ask conservatives*. Comments between users without conservative flair are not allowed (except inside of our Weekly General Chat thread). Please keep discussions focused on asking conservatives questions and understanding conservatism. Thank you.

You seem to have an issue with quantifying things that cannot in any way be quantified. There’s no way to say for sure which “side” is more vitriolic than the other. And the same goes for trying to claim more people celebrated Kirk’s death than Good’s. Like why are you even putting thought into that sort of stuff?

So as one person out of 348 million, do you think it’s possible your experience may not actually be representative of people at large? Also should we or should we not trust the media? It always gets so confusing, sometimes we should and sometimes we shouldn’t it seems depending on what someone’s beliefs are and what argument they are trying to make. Why is that, do you think?
A
ajh951 • 1 points
You have the president encouraging violence by saying he’d like to *”punch \[a protester\] in the face”* and that cops should *”shoot a shoplifter as he leaves the store.”.* What this nurse said is horrible but she’s not inciting violence, legally speaking. She also doesn’t have millions of followers and supporters who look up to this person and are influenced by what she says.

Here in Colorado, Joe Oltmann is running for governor. He’s called for his political opponents to be hung. Here he is recounting telling a reporter to ride the sui-slide because the reporter is allegedly an antifa demon: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNOOwkiNlO0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNOOwkiNlO0)

Because for the last 12ish years there is a culture war ongoing. And for some reason both us and the left are increasingly using perforative language which has brought out the crazies.
M
milkbug • 1 points
I mean, it very distinctly went in a bad direction once the Trump era started. He played a major role in normalizing bullying in violent rhetoric toward political opponents. Of course there’s always been mudslining in politics, but he pushed it to a level that is really extreme compared to what was socially acceptable before. Have you noticed a difference in political rhetoric and public discourse comparing before Trump and now?
C

I don’t know. Ask the left?
C
CupcakeTrap • 1 points
Relevant username is relevant. I’m increasingly convinced that it’s a bad idea to use secondhand information to decide what a given “side” thinks. OP should ask this on r/askliberals. (Unless the whole point is to find out what conservatives think liberals think.)
S
SatansScallion • 1 points
I’d bet a dollar it would just be 90-95% whataboutisms.
C
Commissioner_Boredom • 1 points
It’s so funny to me that both sides can’t see their obvious shortcomings. The right and left both do whataboutisms quite well.
A
agentspanda • 1 points
I will guarantee you’d get a better idea of what liberals *actually* think from asking conservatives here than by asking liberals on Reddit- and that’s not even a hot take on my part.
S
savagestranger • 1 points
It’s quite literally a hot take on your part.
A
agentspanda • 1 points
It’s really not.

askliberals bans most questions and really, if you ask a question here, democrats will answer in replies so yo uget the answer you want
A
According_Ad540 • 1 points
Honestly I wouldn’t mind answering “about liberals” questions, especially since AskaLiberal isn’t very useful. It just feels odd to jump off a random conservative post to do so. Is there a possibility of opening up posts about liberals to liberals?
G
Gaxxz • 1 points
We’ve done something like that in the past. A megathread where conservatives asked liberals questions. I wasn’t a mod then, so I don’t know all what is involved. But I’ll raise it. Conservatives can also post questions to liberals in the weekly general chat.
D
DubiousCheeseballs88 • 1 points
I think you’d need a whole new sub with a whole new system of moderation. But I generally agree, while I used to ask questions on roads/AskALiberal, they’re generally removed for vague or unclear reasons unless I frame them in a way that implies a leftwing bias.
S
Shemsu-Ra • 1 points
Eh, you know how it is. There’s not really a place on Reddit to ask the left about anything. So I’m asking the right and centrists that frequent this space. Just trying to get greater perspective on what I’m seeing. And people like you can help provide it. I’ll fully admit – there’s always a chance Im missing something. But in this case, and from my decades of experience, I don’t think there is.
D
detail_giraffe • 1 points
I feel like there’s no way to answer this without asking the person who said it. It was evil, no question, and it’s beyond horrible that it was a medical provider who said it. But I feel like I could find a bunch of equally depraved remarks from conservatives, and then we’d be in an argument about who does this more or which remarks were more vile, both of which are extremely hard to prove. I’ve seen multiple “jokes” about Renee Good’s death that may not have been this graphic but showed an equal level of indifference to human suffering. I think partisanship has made this worse (or at least has given people a direction to channel their worst impulses) but it’s also a product of the way social media gives us a level of distance from the person we’re being depraved toward while also amplifying the worst shit anyone says.
S
Shemsu-Ra • 1 points
I’ve seen those jokes too. And that’s sick. Personally, I feel Ms. Renee was in the wrong in that situation. But it’s still sad. And any chance I’ve had, I make it clear it’s a sad situation, even if you agree the outcome was justified. I almost never see hate from the left, on Reddit or in media/news. This nurse should be a headline today on abc, nbc, and cnn. All of the anchors should cover the story, disown the violent rhetoric, and call for her to be fired. If this was the other way around, all of those outlets would do the same.
D
detail_giraffe • 1 points
I don’t think every single instance of disturbing hate speech toward public figures can be a headline on all the major news networks, as a practical matter, because there’s so much of it. Generally it gets covered if it’s coming from another public figure or someone famous or if it leads to an actual assault. I can see the rationale for it being covered in this case because it’s coming from a health care professional, and I suspect it will be covered to some extent – I just checked and it’s on Newsweek. I’m sure she’ll be fired, and should be. Beyond that I don’t think the networks can cover it every time someone says something hateful because that’d be all they had time to do.

I mean, did you see trump flipping off that blue collar worker? Assholes are everywhere.
R
revengeappendage • 1 points
Assholes are everywhere, including the guy who Trump flipped off. But giving someone the finger is so different than this. Lol
P
peanutanniversary • 1 points
Yeah, no one really knows who that nurse is. Trump is just the president who calls people piggies and countless other examples of toxic dialogue.
R
revengeappendage • 1 points
That was not the point, but ok.
J
jazzant85 • 1 points
How is it not the point? I’ve been looking for the last half hour and haven’t found a single actual video of this incident. Just dozens of people saying “oh so and so said this”. So which is worse? The supposed leader of the free world saying toxic nonsense literally every single day with a billion person reach, or some random nurse saying toxic nonsense on tik tok to some followers? If this mess even happened.
R
revengeappendage • 1 points
I’m replying to you again with the [link.](https://cbs12.com/news/local/boca-raton-nurse-fired-after-graphic-tiktok-targeting-pregnant-white-house-official-karoline-leavitt-white-house-press-secretary-karoline-leavitt-baptist-health-boca-raton-regional-hospital-january-23-2026)
J
jazzant85 • 1 points
Thanks for sending the link! It’s easily one of the most disgusting things I’ve heard anyone say about another human being. Especially someone in her position who’s supposed to be entrusted with helping people. I’ll even concede that Trump has never publicly said anything so grotesque. Having said that, he’s still a toxic asshole that’s 100% part of the problem with the tribalism in this country.
R
revengeappendage • 1 points
Flipping the bird and what that nurse person allegedly said are not even remotely close to the same level of “toxic nonsense.” I have no idea if that woman actually said that or not, I’m assuming the OP isn’t made up.
J
jazzant85 • 1 points
I love how you minimize Trump’s vitriol to a single middle finger. He’s done A LOT more than that, saying awful things about so many people and you know it.
R
revengeappendage • 1 points
>I love how you minimize Trump’s vitriol to a single middle finger. What? That’s the example from the comment I initially replied to. >He’s done A LOT more than that, saying awful things about so many people and you know it. Never said anything that indicated I didn’t. What I did say is that the examples of the middle finger and calling people piggie are not on the same level as this oddly specific and disgusting (alleged) remark.
D
DubiousCheeseballs88 • 1 points

I think she should be fired and not allowed to be a nurse anywhere else. That’s a really horrible thing to say.

We know from Covid that there are tons and tons of mentally ill doctors and nurses in healthcare. This is just one that got caught on camera. Do yourself a favor and ask your doctors if they would recommend a Covid shot today. Will tell you all you need to know about their politics and the level of care you will get.
O
OJ_Purplestuff • 1 points
>Do yourself a favor and ask your doctors if they would recommend a Covid shot today. Will tell you all you need to know about their politics and the level of care you will get. 94% of doctors are vaccinated for Covid and 46% of doctors are registered republicans, so I don’t think it tells you very much about their politics.
L

I said today.

Tons of healthcare jobs make you get the Covid vax. Even pre-Covid, I know tons that made you get the flu shot.
R
revengeappendage • 1 points
Ok, so this is interesting. I have ADHD. my insurance makes me go for maintenance appointments with my doctor every 3 months. Annoying but whatever. They NEVER actually personally asked me if I wanted a Covid vaccine. They’ve offered me flu vaccines and a fuckin tetanus shot. But never once asked me about the Covid ones. They never even asked me if I have gotten a Covid vaccine or not. The recording on their answering service says they offer Covid vaccines, and did from the very beginning, but they never actually said anything about it to me in person. It’s kinda wild. Lol

Sounds like you have a decent doctors office.
A

It really is a good litmus test. My wife is a physician and you have no idea how many physicians and providers she knows that would still parrot COVID hysteria talking points.
M
milkbug • 1 points
What talking points count as hysteria?
A
agentspanda • 1 points
Forgive me, the talking points themselves aren’t hysteria, they are from the era of “COVID hysteria”. I apologize- I trapped myself in my own sentence structure there and was uncelar.

These people are deranged with TDS. It has gotten worse in Trump’s second term because they are coming to realize they have lost. Trump beat Hillary in 2016 with better policies. Trump only lost in 2020 because he was blamed for Covid and people were scared. Then he soundly beat Kamala in 2024 and also won the popular vote. TDS has taken hold of the left because; 1) They still don’t understand why they lost in 2024 2) Trump defeated them at every turn during Biden’s term. 92 indictments didn’t stop him, trying to bankrupt him didn’t stop him, 2 assasination attempts didn’t stop him, lawfare didn’t stop him. 3) Democrats have no ideas 4) Democrats have no leaders 5) Democrats have no agenda except to obstruct Trump. They are desperately lashing out because they don’t know what else to do.
