I may not like the 76ers, but I do respect how much love they seem to have for Kyle. I am glad he gets to finish his career somewhere that he’s wanted. Plus he’s gonna sign that 1 day for us anyways next season so we’re all good.

Maxey’s post game interview on the local broadcast was just praising Lowry.

Dude almost got emotional

He’s perfect considering we have a bunch of young guards that probably grew up watching him play, plus he’s a Philly guy which helps from the fan side of things. He’s probably got one of the cooler careers from a player’s perspective too. Became a legend in one city, got a ring, and gets to close out his career in his hometown.

Lowry is the man, super likable, has played every game since college as hard as he possibly can, and he’s just a damn good basketball player. Deserves the love.
Z
zincinzincout • 9 points
It was always a meme that he’d come to Philly and when we finally did get him he was well past his prime but he’s been awesome as a player coach. He’s always barking and pointing advice from the bench and smiling when guys check out and sit
T
TatersTot • 1,857 points
Low key think having Lowry on our team is part of the reason there is peace between the Sixers and Raptors despite the history of our toxic fan bases lol
P
Pyromania1983 • 874 points
100%. He’s such a good leader and has the type of positive influence. I have no doubt he’s been helping our guys grealty this year. It shows when he’s essentially an assistant coach during the games lol.

It’s Lowry but also it’s very hard to hate Edgecomb, Maxey & Mccain. I love those 3 younger guys & wish they played for any other team but i can’t help but want to see them do well.

PM_ME_YOUR_pH_VALUE • 113 points
It’ll always be fuck the Sixers but you’re right, these guys are awesome and them + Kyle makes this Sixers team harder to root against for sure
A
Anxious-Sir-1361 • 64 points
… there’s always Embiid to get us back rooting against them. Lol

That interview with VJ after he got drafted talking about having to use generators & shit when he was growing up… man that hit me hard. It’s cool to see the younger guys succeed.

I wanted us to get Edgecomb so bad last year. Maxey and McCain are 2 of my favourite players. I love that Philly backcourt
D

Seeing coach Lowry on the sixers warms my heart. Would be cool if he actually wants to coach and ends up on the Raptors later on in life
X
XLcondumb • 31 points
God how I wish we had him to mentor Quick and Shead
M
Mrbaby • 9 points
I really hope he would take a coaching assistant job here.

We haven’t met in the playoffs in a while too. But y’all are our only real rival IMO.

The 2001 and 2019 semi finals are incredibly iconic.

I think that Embiid shot triggered the most toxicity between the fanbases lmao

It’s early and your flair had me confused. I was like wtf does Lebanon have to do with Philly and Toronto lol.

100% right whenever I check the game scores I’m like “okay the Sixers won that’s dope”

I feel like its natural to want your rivals to succeed (not against you, naturally). You don’t want to end up like [Kings v Golden State](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1q8w202/steph_curry_on_if_the_warriors_vs_kings_is_a/).
I
IAmTotallyNotSatan • 7 points
Ehhh, it really depends on the team. I’m a Michigan fan. The MSU rivalry is better when they’re a good team; I’d be cool with them going 12-1 each year so long as the 1 is against us. OSU can go rot in hell though

Ultimate Glue Guy.

Emphasis on the “part” VJ and Maxey are just way too nice to dislike. Still not a fan of Embiid and how reckless he plays, but game recognize game and those two youngsters have it
B
bubbabear244 • 5 points
It’s all brotherly love until our baseball teams meet in October 😉
F

I dont think raptor fans hate Philly, they just hate embiid.
A

Toronto and Philly have a lot of history crossing multiple sports
T

After the 2019 Semis y’all absolutely hated each other. It’s crazy to see the fanbases on relatively good terms now
Z
zincinzincout • 1 points
Maxey and Sct Brn also bonded in that rising star event And Embiid is literally the only remaining guy on either team from the Kawhi year if you exclude Nurse. Kurkmaz and Tobias were the two other longest tenured sixers when they were here 😅 now it’s Maxey

Crowd wanted to erupt but he kept fucking missing omg. 0/3 from deep in the last 75 seconds 😭
