Sean Penn is currently trending with over 20,000 searches due to his recent appearance at the Golden Globes 2026. Notably, comedian Nikki Glaser made headlines by humorously referring to him as a “sexy leather handbag,” which garnered attention and sparked curiosity about his reaction and involvement in the event. Such a playful comment from a prominent figure in entertainment tends to attract significant media coverage and public interest.

Additionally, Penn’s presence at the Golden Globes, where he was reportedly seen smoking at his table, has contributed to the increased search interest in him. Attending high-profile events often places celebrities in the spotlight, and any unusual behavior, such as smoking during the ceremony, tends to generate discussions around their actions and choices.

The combination of Glaser’s joke and Penn’s notable conduct at a major awards show has created a moment of intrigue. This scenario typically leads to a surge in online inquiries as fans and the media seek further details about the incident, the celebrity’s persona, and any subsequent reactions or developments related to him. As a result, Sean Penn’s name is prominently featured in search trends following these events at the Golden Globes.

Didn’t realise how much cigarettes stank untill I quit. My friend came around and smoked in my house. Smelt horrible.

Grew up with parents that smoked in the house 24/7. Never even knew what it smelled liked because I was nose blind to it. Eventually we moved to a different house where they started smoking outside and they eventually quit not long after I graduated high school Now I have a coworker that smokes like half a pack before clocking in (their own admittance) and I just about gagged the first time I met them. It really does smell awful, but I genuinely had no idea for the longest time

I had 1 parent smoke like a chimney and 1 parent as a non-smoker. They divorced when I was really young so most of my childhood was spent living at 1 parent’s house whilst visiting the other parent at the weekend. Whenever I visited the smoker parent on weekends, I would always wear clothes I wouldn’t mind smelling of smoke because they’d always smoke cigarettes inside the house and in the car and that smell would be on my clothes even after being in their house for an afternoon. It stunk so badly.

I smoked for around 20 years but have been smoke free for almost three months. Now that I don’t smoke, I’m very sensitive to the smell of it and not in a good way. How bad I smelled for all those years has been an eye opening and somewhat embarrassing realization over the past several weeks.

Hey there. Congrats on 3 months!! After 20 years, that is a massive accomplishment. I’m 2 weeks dry from alcohol. It feels great. I hope you have continued success staying away from the cigarettes!

*In* your house?? That’s just gross even if you are a smoker lol

My mother would not even crack a window in the car when I said it was making me feel sick. Car trips in the winter really sucked.

I had a friend that absolutely could not or would not drive unless he had a cigarette in his hand. He would fire it up out of instinct, like putting on your seat belt. He was like that riding in others cars too. I let him smoke in my car a couple times, then said no. It was like I slapped his gramma or something. “Whaddya mean…?” What if I open the window?” Still stinks man, and it lingers to the upholstery.

My dad was the same way. Only cracked the window whenever he was putting it out instead of using an ash tray. Once the burned part didn’t go out the window and hit me
S

I was in the back seat and my moms went out her window in the front and sucked back into mine and hit me. Good times 👍🏼

You just brought back some early hotbox memories with my mom when I was a kid. Really thought nothing of it back in the day.

I remember when smoking in hospitals was a thing. You could smoke a cig while holding your newborn or visiting someone fresh out of surgery
C
Check_Me_Out-Boss • 9 points
I’m old enough to remember when they banned smoking on planes lol
T
tinaismediocre • 1 points
I recently flew across country and the flight attendant, while doing her spiel said something like “and in case you haven’t flown since the ’80s, there is no smoking on board the plane”

I remember bank tellers smoking while waiting on clients

I had many doc appointments where the doc smoked all the way through the procedure.

My dad almost ended a friendship because the guy wanted to light up in our new house. “But its so big inside!” Actually no, its not, and we dont smoke and dont want to smell it. We ended our friendship with them not long after anyways.

I don’t disagree, but the double ?? implies this wasn’t completley normal not so long ago. Both at home, at work (inc public facing rolls) and in shared spaces even hospitals.
H

Same. When my now wife and I were dating I smoked about a pack and a half a day. I quit when I found out that we were going to have a baby. When I got into my truck (that I used to smoke in) one day about 5 months after quitting, I realized how bad it smelled. I apologized profusely for making her ride around like that. I quit in 2012. It’s been over 13 years.
B

Yes! After I quit i very quickly wanted to die when I realized how absolutely gross I must have smelled

I just sat beside a dude on the bus today who STANK of cigarette smoke. I had actually forgotten how bad smokers smell.
C

Just after my girlfriend moved in with me, she had a bunch of stuff at her parents house we had to travel a few states to pick up (FL to OK at the time), and her parents are full time smokers in the house. All of that stuff smelled like smoke, no matter how many times it got washed and cleaned. We ended up putting it in a spare bedroom with an air purifier to help cleanse the scent. Right now it’s been a year and a half and that spare room still smells like a stale cigarettes.
T

Im not totall disagreeing alot but i think lots of people just hate the smell and also people that just smoked stink extremely.
S
Skinnyass_Indian • 998 points
This. Smokers smell.
A
A6000user • 572 points
Including weed smokers. Omfg it’s nauseating.
W
WitchPillow • 187 points
I know people seem to hate it when you insult weed but I absolutely detest the smell. When I was in college, my dorm would get wafted with weed every night and I HATED it. Even at some of my classes, people would reek of weed, and it would stink up the whole classroom and the hallways.
M
MultiGeek42 • 13 points
As a weed smoker myself I recognize that weed smoke is especially pungent and try not to smoke upwind of others. It doesn’t seem to stick to surfaces as much as tobacco smoke.

I smoke weed every day and I’ve never smoked inside, or in my car bc I don’t even like the smell.

Walking around New York City while on a trip about a year or so ago, it was shocking that the smell of weed just seemed to hover perpetually in the streets. It was nauseating and unpleasant. It had been a long time since I’d been to New York, but it had me wondering what in the hell is going on with New Yorkers that they smoke THAT MUCH weed.
C
CalligrapherDizzy201 • 15 points
There’s THAT many New Yorkers.
Z
zani1903 • 47 points
And the even worse part is that, unlike most tobacco smokers, weed smokers in my experience have somehow all been under the collective delusion that it doesn’t actually smell at all
D
daikatanaman00 • 7 points
People seriously underestimate how much blunts and joints make someone smell after smoking one. I ride Public transit and one person can make the enter bus smell like it. I don’t think cigs can do that. To me the weed smell is stronger and seems to linger
A
A6000user • 9 points
Judging by how we get people coming in for job interviews and they’re totally polluted with the smell of weed, I’d say this makes sense.
P
proximusprimus57 • 53 points
And they’ve collectively decided that “anywhere, anytime” is the appropriate time and place for doing it.
B
BetterCrab6287 • 29 points
The worst thing about weed is the potheads. Time and place folks, time and place. Not everyone wants to smell your shit.
S
SlinkyDinky69 • 93 points
Blunts are the worst
H
HazelEBaumgartner • 7 points
It’s because blunts are made with tobacco so you get both weed smell AND tobacco smell. When I do smoke, it’s papers or pipe for me, but 99% of the time I go with edibles because there’s no smell at all.

“Bro, I smoke on my couch every day and you can’t tell” – the guy who’s apartment you can smell from the street

– the smoker that stinks of weed, driving two cars lengths ahead of me while my windows are rolled up.

I would take secondhand cigarette smoke over weed anyday. Weed smells so much worse.

I went into the office of my smoker diff eq teacher, and it was UNBEARABLE. I could barely fucking breath
C

Shoulda gotten your teacher to teach you how to spell “breathe”.
S

The cheaper the cigarettes the worse the smell and because they are so expensive most gets the cheap ones

Smellers smoke.
P

No, OP is correct. I went to a large BREWERY for a concert. They have only one spot off to the side of the parking lot that’s the “smoking area” (basically one bench, outdoor cigarette collector, and few signs around a 10×20 space). It’s about a 5 min walk to get to it from inside and it’s far away from almost anything. A woman with a stroller and two kids comes in hot from across the way to tell me off for smoking in front of her kids in a “family place” I literally belly laughed and told her to take her kids out of the fucking smoking area at a bar.
