I just rewatched this one last night. It’s got a lot of really good bits, but I forgot how many of them take place in Japan. I just don’t feel like the Japanese people respond as well to these kind of jokes and pranks and that makes them a bit less funny than they could have been.

This was the last time they could actually prank strangers without costumes. I never heard my Dad laugh harder in my entire life because of The Muscle Simulator. It holds a special place of course, but I still think it’s the best. It’s more of the show unrated and I think that’s all anyone ever wanted at the time.

There’s something special about the low-budget nature of the first movie along with the series. It gives it its own charm. Just a bunch of dumbass friends doing dumbass stunts and pranks. Love it.

When the 2nd came out I was shocked at how “huge” it felt compared to 1. 1 felt like a longer more expensive episode of the show. Still grimy and simple and for that reason I will always adore it. 2 is my favorite but 1 is GOATed and has some of my favorite moments in the franchise

Yea the stunts are smaller but that makes them funnier imo. When they go too big it loses what makes it so good. Jackass 3 did this imo but Forever reigned it back
