Naw it sucks to lose for silver. The difference between events like this vs a timed event or a judged event is you can be proud of yourself for skating 500m in 35 seconds even if it wasn’t the fastest time it’s like “yeah I did that hell yeah!” or a judged event your score is practically out of your hands and you can still be pleased with the performance you laid down. I believe once they process the emotions they will be genuinely happy with their medals but in that moment losing stings

Plus often in events like skiing, snow boarding, skating or other 1 person medals – a lot of the time they get the time to wait for the next competitors to go through and can go to the back and cry quick then come out when everyone is through.
