My stepdad listened to him. I’m serious. It took me thousands of dollars in lawyers fees to get a response from those aholes. You call the number on the “loan” to get a pay off bill. Then they give a pay off phone number. That number gives you a recording with the ORIGINAL number. So I call her back and she gives me an email. I emailed it. It returned to sender. For a year. Back and forth. I was their legal guardian. Finally, my mom had passed away. Then my stepdad was in a nursing home. I handed it to the attorney. $8000 later that freaking company sent me the final bill for $18,674. They took a loan out against the house that they didn’t need because they forgot they were loaded. I swear I think having him as a spokesperson convinced my mother to take out a reverse mortgage. She’s a Blue Bloods fan. Yeah I was a Magnum PI fan but I’m not going to pretend he knows what I should do financially! Maybe they work for some folks I don’t know but she would not even talk to me or let me look over their terms before she signed the papers.For reference I’m her elder daughter and I even offered her a loan to tide over some bills but no she wouldn’t consider other options.
