If it makes you feel better there is no Rapture in the Bible. It was made up wholecloth in the 19th century in the US. What happens is that eventually there will be the Day of Resurrection which will happen after God’s final victory against evil. The people with the power to do so legally are in on the corruption, the people with most of the guns support his corruption across the board because he promises to hurt “the right people.” And the people who have guns that don’t support him aren’t quick to jump at political assassination.

Nobody is stopping him because he holds a position of power, and the people willing to stop him do not, while the people who might hypothetically be able to stop him are unwilling to do so. In order for him to be stopped or held accountable, he has to be removed from power. The only ways we have to remove politicians from power are elections, impeachments, and assassinations/coups. He isn’t being impeached because the general population can’t impeach a politician, only Congress can, and Congress is controlled by a party that is complicit with Trump’s wishes. The election this year won’t remove him from office directly, but we could hypothetically elect enough people willing to impeach him that he gets removed from office that way. It’s fairly unlikely though, considering the thresholds required for impeachment and the measures they will likely take to prevent a fair and free election. Otherwise, term limits should theoretically prevent Trump specifically from running in 2028, but if they don’t somehow, that’d be our chance to vote him out, and regardless will be our chance to vote MAGA out. Assuming they don’t manage to suspend, cancel, or rig that election well enough of course. The people who might hypothetically want to assassinate Trump haven’t done so because attempting to do so basically guarantees that they will suffer/die while providing no guarantee that 1) the attempt will be successful, and 2) that a successful assassination would bring about positive change. In fact, it seems likely it might do the opposite, and make Trump into a martyr whose death is used by his successors as an excuse to perpetuate violence and retribution against those who opposed him. However, since a single individual who is mentally unstable or feels like they have nothing to lose could theoretically pull off an assassination, it’s still more plausible than a coup. A coup hasn’t happened for the same reasons as an assassination, but on a larger scale. People don’t want to risk the lives of not just themselves, but their loved ones as well, on something that might not succeed, especially when even success wouldn’t guarantee things get better. Plenty of coups against tyrannical and corrupt dictatorships have led to another tyrannical and corrupt dictator taking their place, and too many people still feel like they have too much to lose for them to decide to take the risk that they might die trying to overthrow the government and failing anyways.
