Kevin Fiala is currently trending due to a significant incident that occurred during an Olympic game, where he was stretchered off the ice with a leg injury. This event garnered attention as it raised concerns about his health and the potential impact on both his Olympic participation and his professional career with the LA Kings.

The interest in Kevin Fiala surged following reports from various sources, including Yahoo Sports, that detailed the circumstances surrounding his injury. The dramatic nature of being taken off the ice on a stretcher typically attracts considerable media and public attention, leading to heightened search activity as fans and followers seek to learn more about his condition and the implications of his injury.

Additionally, Fiala’s involvement in the 2026 Winter Olympics while representing Switzerland further contributed to the spike in interest. Major sporting events, particularly the Olympics, tend to draw significant viewership and engagement, making notable incidents involving prominent athletes more likely to trend as people follow developments closely.

I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen a player get stretchered off face down before. Wishing him nothing but the best.

This is my second time seeing Fiala get stretchered off… that’s two times too many. Hope he’s okay.

Interesting-Mess2393 • 1 points
Yeah, I’ve had my fill of Fifi getting carted off.
S

Same. The first wasn’t pretty.

i haven’t seen the hit so this is mostly conjecture, but i believe that’s precautionary due to his surgically repaired femur, especially if the injury occurred on the same leg. the idea is to minimize movement as much as possible to decrease the risk of moving the nail, which can result in massive blood loss and hypovolemic shock, among other things.

I was yelling at them to give him the gas from the couch. That looked painful!
G
GoBlue81 • 1 points
How would gas from the couch help? I assume it’s mostly farts
M
MrVelocoraptor • 1 points
A useful distracting technique from the pain lol

Get out. Also, upvoted.

They brought the [medics from the 70s](https://xcancel.com/Super70sSports/status/1631122546220253185?s=20) back.

I saw it live when Anton Forsberg blew out both knees vs the Oilers in Ottawa a few years back. Brutal.

First time I’ve ever seen anyone stretchered off face down

Fiala trying to protect his ankle instead of trying to put weight on it because he knows it’s fucked from taking all of Wilson’s weight.

A 2 wheeled stretcher was not something I had on my bingo card. Is that just a Euro thing?
S
Schmuttzig • 25 points
Italy!
C
Cliff-Bungalow • 32 points
The stretcher was sponsored by Ducati
I
Icykool77 • 16 points
But they make so many great things there with four wheels.
S
suburbanplankton • 7 points
But you don’t want your stretcher breaking down three times on the way to the locker room.
S
Schmuttzig • 3 points
Indeed they do. Except for F1 cars…
Y
YouAreTotalGarbage • 2 points
Hey!!! You don’t know that yet!!!!
M
MarsD9376 • 73 points
Not really, first time I’ve seen such stretcher. It’s very strange design.
L
LargePicture48 • 71 points
That design is just asking for another [Modano incident](https://youtu.be/Aw52zFNwe3c?si=V_hPayzmBfiWscUZ) lmao
C

“I can’t believe I just saw that” hahahha
B

Never fails to make me laugh. And it’s just so WWF looking.
L
lolijk • 7 points
I have just learned it was not WWF, I think I’ve only ever seen (eta:the clip of) him be dropped in the past
B
Birdhawk • 1 points
I certainly don’t think you’ve seen him be dropped in the present or future.
L
lolijk • 1 points
Fair play, meant the clip

😂

It’s called a wheeled litter. It’s used by primarily SAR crews in rough terrain such as a trail. Since the Olympics are on snowy, uneven terrain for the most part, it makes sense why those stretchers are around.
S
ShadowChair • 15 points
Seems odd that they would be at the arena in Milan though
K
kazin29 • 10 points
Not really. It’s the rink, not the mountain. Poor occupational health and safety planning.

In ITALIA???? No no no tutto è progettato come previsto
O
Ok_Accident3778 • 15 points
Fractured Femur will do that… same one if so that was injured when he was with Nashville
N
NcKm89 • 75 points
Same here. Them not really wanting to change his position definetly makes me fear for smth with the spine.
O
OilFan92 • 106 points
If it was spine he’d have a c-collar and rigid supports everywhere. He’s obviously concerned with any movement in his leg, to where rolling over was out of the question.
C
Conscious_Argument_2 • 77 points
probably not something with his spine, considering they did nothing to protect the cervical spine/neck area. Could be wrong but seems unlikely
N
NcKm89 • 6 points
Fair enough and i really don’t want to guess too much here. I definetly hope so and wish him a speedy recovery.
C
Crush1112 • 101 points
I believe it was something with his leg. Either heavily twisted and/or broken, so they didn’t want to move it.
B
Brodieboyy • 42 points
Most likely some kind of break and just not moving it out of precaution until they know what kind of break it is
A
Alone_Again_2 • 25 points
I suspect a torsion fracture. Sad way to end the game for everyone.
T
TerryPegulaCannedMe • 15 points
Torsion? Not unless his nuts are in his knee
A
Alone_Again_2 • 11 points
Also known as a spiral fracture, if that helps.
A
Aggressive-Ad9012 • 4 points
Had this playing hockey took 2 years and 2 surgery’s to feel better never again 100 %
A
Appropriate-Joke-806 • 7 points
Lmao. He is a hockey player to be fair.
K
kindray • 2 points
You mean “spiral”?
A
amrose15 • 5 points
Torsion and spiral fracture are the same things….
M
mephnick • 58 points
Knee went the wrong way with Wilson on it It’s either a break somewhere or all the tendons in his knee disintigrated
S
squeakycheetah • 2 points
With a femur break you don’t want to move the leg at all to prevent a severed artery. Could be that, I hope not.
S
seemonkey • 20 points
Wilson fell on his leg/ankle. Not his spine, fortunately.
R
riko77can • 18 points
Very likely was more about him tolerating that position better. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
